I can tell you about Miami.
1. Can’t talk about
DCL transport to but I can talk about from at the end.
1a I took an Uber and as soon as we pulled up you have the baggage guys there taking luggage. Do you have to cross another “Road” basically part of the parking lot to get to the terminal. I’m talking 10 -20 yards. Buses will pull right up to the building by the front entrance.
2. When you arrive at the terminal you’ll see one main entrance and facing the building a huge line against the wall. These are actually people waiting for their PAT and who are early. If you are exactly at your PAT time just simply walk up to the front where they are scanning your phones at the entrance. ( you might feel like you’re cutting in line but you’re not )There’s stairs that go up or ramp to the left. They will scan your PAT time. Once you enter here you are directly in the line for security.
3. Once you pass security you’ll see a bunch of people telling you to move down and go right to get in line for testing. They will give you a plastic bag with your test and a pen I need to fill out your sticker for your sample.
4. when we were there there was a group of elderly ladies with one person who is handicapped. They moved over to the side to use a mini wall table to fill out their forms and were repeatedly screamed at by the testing folks to “keep the line moving“. Ignoring the fact that some people might have a physical issue standing in moving in writing at the same time with no table.
5. You will be then directed from this line to go into one of the booths to do your swabbing . From the outside curb to this point I’m guessing 50 ft Max? It’s very condensed space white from curbside to security to testing.
6. After testing is when you then get the feeling OK I’m in a real Terminal and the place gets huge. There are escalators and elevators to get to the next level where you wait for your test result. There’s actually two sections I left and right section and both have TV monitors with your reservation number instructing you to either proceed to board or not.
7. As a tip I found there was no Wi-Fi and I had no connection to data. I can move into the windows or I can see the ship and I still couldn’t get reception. Now it could’ve been my foreign phone but I use t mobile in the US. I depended on those TV screens to see test results
8. This is where the lien can get somewhat long because once we were cleared that’s where there was one main line to get through the actual check in process. I thought maybe this process would be skipped with all the online stuff you have to do before you even get to the terminal but they still verify things. Your state room key and Laynards will be in your room though. As international they then told us to go to concierge/supervisor to verify our ESTA. I guess there are other terminals can’t do thatThen you are clear to board.
9. I felt like we were literally walking in circles in a way before we got to the ship or zigzagging. Port Canaveral seems more like a straight shot once you’re in the building.
10. Bathrooms were right there
11. then you walk on the jet way to the ship and most likely you will be held in the jetway until your batches is allowed on. You don’t get a batch of saying it’s just the order on which people board they’ll let 10 families in at a time I believe then you stand on your circle and make it as a song and dance.
12. Getting off the ship we seem to walk forever within the terminal and realized how big it was. From immigration to curbside it’s literally the room and then the curb. Port Canaveral there’s more walking after an immigration to get the transportation. Literally 10 feet beyond immigration the Disney buses were waiting for us that went to the airport.
13. Disney transportation was really fast I took as I believe 20 minutes to get to the airport. I’m so glad though that we were the second stop. It seems like many more cruise transfers from other cruise lines were dropping people off at the first stop in Miami airport has especially set up or bus people drop their people off at a specific location and there was a huge line getting into the terminal with the first stop. It was actually chaos to be honest. I don’t know if there’s checkin right there to drop bags off or what. We were the second stop and there it was just a normal door that we walked into.
we were Happy to see that there was actually seating right outside where the bus is dropped us off, because this is where we sat for a good hour or two maskless before we went into the terminal. Terminal was just simply packed and chaos and I didn’t feel like catching Covid there LOLWe had a good five hour wait and an eight hour flight so we decided to stay outside as long as possible
hope this helps.
