PC Stitch -is it any good

Anyone here use PC Stitch? There is a Standard version and a Pro version - is the Pro version necessary for a good quality chart? I have a great photo that I would like to cross stitch, and would be open to any other suggestions you experienced stitchers might have! Thanks!

I have an older version of PC Stitch (v. 6). I got it recently at a garage sale and have actually made a few graphs with it. It's fun to play with. I can't seem to import any pictures though and I'm really wanting to. I get an error each time I try. Anyone know what's going on? I have several pictures I'd like to make into charts.
