I remember several recommendations on the old UK boards for online suppliers of cheap(er)printer cartridges, but I didn't make a note of any of them!

Does anyone know any web sites that I could try, please? My new printer is a Canon.

Hilary,

I posted a question not long before the boards crashed, but I didn't save any of them and now I'm getting desperate! Tim (Goofyish) and Dave, TFM (amongst others) posted some good links - they're on the tip of my tongue, but won't quite come! It's my age!

Hi Ladies

Here is one that was recommended by Stu and Dave ages ago. I have used them twice for compatable cartridges and found them to be brilliant.

First time ordered on the Saturday - delivered on the Monday
Second time ordered on the Friday - delivered on the Saturday.

You couldn't get to a shop quicker and the prices for my printer were fantastic (Epcom Color)

Choice Stationery

:)

I find 7DayShop.com a fantastic place for Printer cartridges and paper. Aswell as Digital Camera Memory. Curently you can by a 64MB Smartmedia card for £16 which is an unbeatable price.

I've just ordered from Choice, as I know several people have recommended them, seriously tempted by another 64k smartmedia from 7day though!!

£9.75 inc vat and post for 2 black and 2 colour Epsom compatibles - money back guarentee apparantly. Usually around £15 EACH!!

....... I bought two HP compatible cartridges for my HP deskjet ( can't believe the way this printer chugs on so reliably) for £8 cheaper than I can buy just one cartridge from any retail outlets, from Choice. They took 4 days to arrive. ( I like the recycle bags you receive for sending in your used cartridges too!)

I also use 7day shop for consumables. Great service. I just bought a three pack of colour carts for my Epsom 890 from them for £29.95, they're £15.99 each in pc world. Dabs have some good prices on cartridges.
I'm wary of using compatable carts since I used one in my Canon. I never got it to print properly afterwards and ended up having to buy a new printer.

..... old but valuable thread! I need some new printer cartidges and couldn't find the website I used to use...... but it's on this thread and may be of use to others so.............. bump!

....... checking out the links, the Choice website can no longer be found and it looks like Dabs is having some difficulties - any current sites that you can recommend would be very welcome :) - I'll go with Maxine's recommendation meanwhile!

I tried Choice last time I needed new cartridges and I cant remember if they have changed their name or gone out of business but I found myself eventually at this website and it is the same format as Choice. Great service again - ordered one day - arrived the next in first class post.

Article ref. N1847

Welcome back to dabs.com. We apologise sincerely to all our customers for the disappearance of our Website. We also apologise to customers who have tried to contact us via email and had their mail bounce back to them.

Major damage was done to a BT line which unfortunately meant connection to the Internet and our site, was lost. This was completely beyond our control.

Any orders placed before our website went down, will be processed.

It's worth noting that there has been no breach of security or problems with customers' transactional details as a result of this incident.

If you sent an email and it did not bounce back to you, then it should have been stored, which means we will read and action it as soon as we can.

This is the first time we have had such a severe outage in our trading history. Please be assured we will be exploring every avenue possible to minimise the risk of this re-occurring again in the future.

Thank you for choosing dabs.com.

Seems they had a problem but back to normal now. :D

Jan,

You heroine, I've been trying to remember the site too, I'm glad they are still there. I print digital pictures using their compatible inks, DH is convinced the archival quality will be no different to Epson. Saves a small fortune.

All I need now is a high quality but much cheaper premium photo paper. does anyone know anywhere that does Kodak/HP etc in bulk (say 100 sheet) packs?

Thanks for that link Sue - I've popped it back into my favourites. Dont know what happened with the last link I had

Fiona - I've looked for bulk supplies and not had much luck. Ive got the Kodak Picture Paper (Heavier Weight) and I managed to pick it up from PC World on a BOGOF offer and I think it was something like £7.99. I also saw it in Tesco's amongst the back to school stuff for £4.99. These were both for packs of 25 sheets.

Ive seen it somewhere recently in packs of 50 sheets, and I think it was either in Morrisons OR in the advertising blurb that I get sent from Makro. Sorry I cant remember which, but I'll look out for it next time I go to either of those shops.

By the way - I dont know if you burn your own discs but Morrisons had a brilliant deal on CDR's! Box of 10 for £5.99 or 3 boxes for £10.00

I have never found anywhere on the web cheaper than a PC store in my own town they sell 4 black AND 4 colour so thats 8!! in total for a price-busting £16.50!!

Shirley Ill enquire I really dont know but if we plan it somehow I could always get you some then post them on to you Ill find out first then let you know-IAN
