PC Access

Does anybody know if the computers have accessible USB ports? The reason for asking is to upload pictures from a camera and then transfer them to a portable USB device, rather then have them burned on to a CD.

No they do not.

You only have access to the mouse, keyboard & monitor - not to the actual CPU

I am planning on taking my laptop. Anyone know if/when there will be internet access if you have your own computer with you? On our 7 day cruise, even though I had taken many extra memory sticks for our camera, I found myself having to go in to delete questionable images. I am looking forward to being able to transfer them to my laptop and make back-ups right then and there. The internet access questions is so that we can keep in touch while we are gone for 14 days... (Aug repo). Any information on the internet access would be appreciated!

Currently the only internet access is using DCL's computers. Hopefully during dry-dock they will open the wireless access up for guests.

After the problems with access to the PCs during the May repo cruise I had hoped they could open up the WiFi capability before the Aug repo cruise .. it doesn't make sense to pay for "unlimited" access when it isn't so unlimited (being limited to 10 minute sessions, waiting in line for PC availability, etc.).

We'll be brining our laptop onboard too .. mostly for downloading the digital pics, and for burning all the pics to CD. It would've been nice to use the WiFi with it too, oh well.

Awwww man...... I was hoping to be able to use my computer.... I guess I'll have to wait until next time. Is the internet cafe open in the middle of the night..... ???? I tend to be a night owl, that might make it easier to avoid the lines and wait..... Since they were refunding money to unlimited users on the May repo, any word of them lowering the price in general?

We were on the PACKED NYE cruise and the terminals always were unoccupied. Maybe because your's was a 2 week cruise more people were checking e-mail.

My mom cruises and travels in general a whole lot more than we do. Her standing order to us is "if the house burns down, I don't care.......if someone dies......I'll grieve when I get back...there is nothing that can't wait until I get back".
She just got back from an 11 day cruise on Celebrity's Mercury......over Mother's Day AND her birthday. I thought briefly about paying the $9 a minute for a surprise phone call to the ship....but, minding her orders, instead sent a big envelope with her before she left with her birthday cards, and mother's day cards, and a couple of random envelopes with pictures in them, with dates on them telling her when she could open them. She loved it. Took up no space in her luggage, she didn't worry about why we called if she missed the call. Sadly though, she admitted that on Mother's Day she was not showing off the picture of me, her dear and only son, or my wife, or our kids.......she was showing off the picture of our CAT that we sent along!!!!!

I wasn't on the May repo cruise - but several of those cruisers had complained to me that they were limited to using the PCs for 10 minutes at a time, and one of them stood in line for 2 hours in order to use a PC.
