PBR???? Sleeping 5

We want to bring my mom with on our next vacation to US. We have only stayed onsite at WDW and have used the pullout at the Poly for her. I cannot believe US hotels do not have a similar option-I am only seeing a rollaway option for $25.00 a night. Is that our only option to stay onsite at Universal?

At HRH they have a deluxe room that has a pullout sleeper sofa option in a separate study area.

Most of the deluxe rooms at the PBH have a small pullout couch in the double queen rooms. You have to ask to make sure you get one since there are a few rooms that just have a chair instead of the small pullout.

The deluxe rooms at the HRH have a full pullout couch in the double queen rooms.

There are no options other than a cot to sleep 5 in the standard double queen rooms at the RPR and they do not have deluxe rooms.

So Universal does have options for those families of 5.

We are a family of 5.We have stayed at Hard rock with the sofa which was worn out so we had to pile pillows on it so my daughter could sleep.At Portofino last year I reserved the 2queen with a sofa.They even told me with 5 in a room I would have to have the sofa room.When we got there they told me our room had no sofa but would give us a roll away.That would have been ok but the one they brought us had pee all over it.Called the front desk and they told us sorry they would not charge us for it.WOW thanks.Hope we have better luck this year.

Thanks for the responses! Very disappointing for a hotel that commands these prices. We have never spent this much on a vacation and we have always stayed Deluxe at WDW. My husband has a conference here, but I am certain this will be our last stay at Universal hotels.

I never find the Disney deluxes to be cheaper.

Just take a normal day like Dec. 6

The difference between the Universal 3 day prices and the Disney 3 day prices, makes up for free dining.

We were thrilled to be able to stay in a nice hotel at Universal in only one room, for a decent price. We love Disney, but we have found Universal to be so much more economical for a family of 5. (Except for that free dining!)

If you have any children traveling with you, you can bring in air mattress if you wish. That is what we did and it worked out well. I thought one of the younger ones would end up using it, but DS15 (6'2") decided he wanted his own sleep space and the arrangement worked out well.

Several people have suggested aerobeds on this site. I use aerobeds when I go camping, not when I sleep in a Deluxe hotel. Just my thoughts. No flames please.

This is EXACTLY what we need! I called to inquire about the pull out couch and they told me it is only available in the suites (which raises the room price to $500.00) Am I missing something? What is this room called?? Thanks so much for the help and the picture!

This is called a deluxe room. Just tell them you want the deluxe room with the pullout. Most deluxe rooms have them but a few do not. Not sure of when you are plannin on going since the dates aren't listed, but are you AAA members. We book two rooms each trip (4 adults - me, hubby, and two 20 somethings) and get a pretty good discount at the HRH with AAA. We are booked for next Aug. already with their discount. Since we go to Disney after Universal and stay in a 2 bedroom villa at the BW Universal hotels are much cheaper for us. We can get the two rooms for less than one night in the villa. Depending on how long you are staying there are usually stay more/save more discounts that come out. Universal is really easy to apply any new discount that comes along to the room.

I also booked this room last year,we are a family of 5 and was told i would have to have deluxe room with sofa.Well when we got there they told me our room did not have a sofa and that a sofa was not quaranteed.So I would bring a air mattress just in case.

Another option is to just call the week before and speak to the room controller to make sure you are getting the correct room.

If the hotel is totally sold out, it can be an issue, so I would definitely call and email to make sure.
