PB vs Waldorf Astoria

Hi everyone..... I am new to these forums

We will be at Universal a few day before Thanksgiving, November 17-21 - 4 nights. Our plan is to do 2-3 days at Universal and 1 park hopper day at Disney (possibly 2 if only doing 2 days at Universal). I am really having a tough time deciding between all 4 nights onsite at Portofino Bay or the Waldorf Astoria right by Epcot. WA has a great rate... Would be about $500 cheaper even with buying the fast pass. I also think the WA would be a bit nicer than the PB???

But the $$ savings is not a huge deal if we would be missing out on a lot by not staying onsite?? It's just me, hubby and our 13 year old. With our son the age he is, I don't see us coming back to the hotel mid day to swim or nap But Universal also has great dining options.

I thought about splitting the stay but hubby isn't crazy about packing up and moving mid stay, although that could still be an option.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Don't forget the EP you purchase is only good for one ride per attraction, and one park unless you buy the park hopper option. One night onsite will give you 2 days of unlimited EP and early entry for us it's a no brainer. We enjoy the ease of staying onsite.

So actually buying the express pass is not unlimited rides like if you are staying onsite?? We will be doing tickets to both parks.

You can purchase a VIP ticket which includes your park tickets as well as unlimited express pass access or you can upgrade your ticket to a VIP ticket. It is quite pricey. This is not the same as the VIP tour.
