Payton's 7th Birthday Trip..PTR!!

I missed this! OMG, I'm kind of freak planner, let say more OCD than anything, but I've never done this before:rotfl::rotfl2:...

LOL:lmao: What makes it funny is that DH is diagnosed OCD. I am usually the calm one. Something about WDW that is getting me obsessed, I guess I am just so excited and want things to be special for DD.:woohoo:

QUOTE=DevonsDisneyMom;33044284]I'm following along!!! DD is adorable!!! I had the chills when you told her she was going to Disney for her birthday!! So sweet!!! Have you thought of taking her to BBB? I'm sure she would get a kick out of that!!![/QUOTE]

Thanks for joining!:welcome: I didn't think anyone would follow other than Rach. Very exciting for DD that everyone is joining in. She seems to be getting more and more excited about he trip with every coming day. I am so glad that we decided not to wait to tell her. She has been able to pick out things that she wants to do and to help with the planning. She even opted to have a Mickey themed birthday party at home!:mickeyjum
I did think about doing the BBB with her. It is really expensive though and I didn't think that it was worth the money. She agreed with me that she did not want to spend all her Disney money on "a day at the spa" as she put it. :littleangel: We decided instead that she would get a dress and accessories when we go to DTD and then Mommy would do her hair, makeup and nails before we go. I even got some sparkle spray for her hair.princess:

Welcome and thanks for joining in. I have been really bad at updating in the last little while :blush:but with only 2 1/2 weeks left, I have promised myself and DD that we will try and post something everyday.
Her favorite princess is Belle, but the night that she wants to dress up for is our dinner at 1900 Park Fare, so she will be meeting Cinderella. I am excited and curious to see which one she will pick. I like the Giselle wedding dress, but what do I know, I'm just Mom.:lmao:
Where are you staying when you are there?

I'll be staying at Saratoga (thanks to pixie dust and a free upgrade). We'll do the 1900 Park Fare on my birthday for dinner (Aug 27th), but although I wish to do so, I won't dress like Cindy! Two years ago, we did the Arkensus breakfast, I wore a tiara and a shirt that said "If the tiara fits..." :rotfl: It was hilarious the interaction with the princesses and the people at the park.

This years since I'm celebrating my 30's at Disney I thought I should behave I little...

The anticipation of a trip is so great!!! I was planning on keeping our Sept trip a secret from my 7 year old DS, but decided against it! Who am i kidding I was too freaking excited that we were going to Disney again to keep it from him!! :rotfl2: But, I agree with you planning the trip is just as much fun for you as it is for your little one.

Yeah, BBB is pretty expensive. I think that it was a great idea for you to give her a make over before you go yourself!! And I bet she will get a million compliments!!! I got to be honest, I think they put the girls hair entirely too tight in the pony at BBB.

I booked the Pirate league for my DS the night we are going to MNSSHP!!! He is very excited, as am I. I figured with the Florida heat, the less of a custume he had to wear the better! Can't wait for the next installment!

I know what you mean. Now I can't believe that we even thought about waiting to tell her. We would have been telling her tomorrow if we had waited. It has been so much fun to talk about Disney with her.

I did her hair today with a "bump-it". It looked fabulous! She said that is how she wants to wear her hair for Cinderella. I have not problem with that. It was quick , easy and looks adorable.

He is going to love that! I am so excited to see pictures of him, you will have to post some. The next installment will be coming tomorrow night. I have had a pretty sick little girl at home since Thursday. Tomorrow is her Mickey themed birthday party, so I will post the pictures in the evening.

Ok I know I said I would post, but Payton has been sick since Thursday. She is feeling better now and I will be posting tomorrow night after the Mickey Birthday Party.

I will definitely post pictures, just as soon as I figure out exactly how to do that! LOL :rotfl:

Poor little girl sick for her birthday party! I sure hope she is feeling better! Can't wait to see the pictures.

OK so I have been missing in action for a little while. :guilty: Life got a little hectic for a bit there. DD was sick and it took her a little bit to get over it, then between doctor's apts and work, life just seemed to get in the way.
We are so excited right now about our trip. Yesterday I did my on-line check -in. I was so excited! :woohoo: I rushed over and told Rach about it and then emailed DH to tell him, He even responded back that he was getting excited too! That is a first! It made me get even more excited. We have been working hard on our countdown calendar and it is really filling up.
I started to pack a bit and then stopped when DH started to tease me that the trip was still 2 weeks away. :rolleyes1 I know that I am obsessed, but I just don't want to forget anything. I do suffer from something called Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD. This makes me become obsessive about planning things and compulsive list making. I am always afraid that I am unorganized and that I will forget to do something that I need to get done. :scared1: So packing now makes sense to me to make sure that I don’t forget an important, or not so important item.
I am also trying to convince DH that we need to go get new luggage. He had bought a set a while back that was on sale, but when he got it home, we discovered a huge rip in the bottom of one of the bags and had to return it. It was the last set, so we could not get another one. Since then DH has decided that we do not need to get new luggage. He says that he is going to pack all of his stuff in his backpack and carry it on. DD has a kids suitcase that her clothes will fit in and she can use that as a carry-on. He is not so naive to believe that I can pack everything into a carry-on:rotfl2:, so he thinks that we will just need to check 1 suitcase. Problem with this plan is. My suitcase is not that big, it will hold my clothes and the other items that we need to take, but just. This leaves no room for the souvenirs that DD (and us) will be taking home and with all the birthday money the kid got, there will be a lot:littleangel:. Also, this leaves no space for DD to carry-on stuff to keep her amused on the 4 hour flight to MCO and the layover we have in Washington. So, the plan is to do the packing this weekend (even if he does tease me about it being a week away:confused3) so I can show him that we will need at least 1 more suitcase. Wal-Mart has a set that I just love. It is a 4 pc set for 59.99 and it is purple (DH favourite color). Keep your fingers crossed that I can convince him to spend the extra money to get the luggage and the baggage fees.
Other than the packing, I think that I might just be ready to go:scared:. I have to send a fax to POP on Friday and then Rach, being the angel that she is, is going to send it again for me on Monday morning when we are in flight. Thanks again Rach:hug: I am going to make the Mousekeeping envelopes today and get the money put in them so they are ready to go in the bag. A few last minute items to get at Wal-mart (hopefully including my luggage;)) and we should be good. I have to go to my best friends wedding rehearsal today and then it is shopping for school supplies tomorrow. I think that everything is coming together. I have a feeling that next week is going to drag on at work with the waiting:hourglass. I hope not!

YAY!!! Glad your little one is doing better!!! So sad when they are sick
YOur trip is fast approaching!!! I am heading out to day to start picking up a few things for our trip. So excited!!! My fingers are crossed that you get your new luggage!!! Men really don't understand the amount of things that need to be packed for a trip, especially when you have a child!! :rotfl2:

YAY! You are back!
Glad to know your DD is better!!!!

Good luck on the luggage mission!!!

Well I hate to admit it, but my DH was right:rolleyes2. We packed everything and it turns out that we do not need to get new luggage:sad1:. DH was able to pack all his clothes in a small backpack that he can carry-on:worship:. We were able to pack all DD's clothes in her small suitcase and she can carry it on. I packed all my clothes and the toiletries and other items in a medium size suitcase that we will have to check. I also packed a backpack in my suitcase for any souvenirs that we will buy. We can have DD use the backpack as her carry-on on the way home and check her small suitcase. So, much to my dismay there will be no new luggage in my near future:sad2:.
DH is finally getting excited about the trip!:yay: He was looking at menus last night for POP and some of the other restaurants that we were looking at. I now realize that everything that I told him over the past 4-5 months went in one ear and out the other:rolleyes2. He was full of questions last night about things that I have already talked about. I just laughed and told him that I loved that he was finally getting excited, even if it took until 1 week before we leave. Better late than never!:rotfl2:
I have made the Mousekeepig envelopes, they are really cute. But, since I don't have any small US bills, I will have to wait until I break the larger bills at the airport or POP to fill them. Same thing with the thank-you cards I got for the tips in the restaurants. I looked at all the menus of the TS places that we are eating at, figured out what the most expensive item was on the menu and figured out the tip from there. So based on the maximum tip amount I will leave I will then put that amount in the card and adjust according to the service and what we actually order.
I have made a list (and checked it twice:santa:) for the items that have to go into our bags last minute, printed out the list of confirmed snacks and put it in my passporter, and done all the last minute shopping. I think that we are actually ready to go. Just have to send a fax to POP with my room requests, give a copy to Rach to fax Monday morning, call the taxi company to reserve a cab to get to the airport and get a good nights sleep the night before since we will be up at 3:00am:scared1:. WOW I can't believe that I am done planning. What am I going to do now with all my free time:bored:?

How exciting that your trip is so close! I am taking DD to celebrate her 8th birthday in November, so I look forward to your trip report~

Doesn't stink when men are right! :rotfl: Sorry no new luggage for the trip :guilty: Maybe next time! I bet you are so very excited, trip is less than a week away!!!!

We are VERY excited! I hope the trip report goes a little better than the PTR. I have already told DH that i plan on taking a million pictures so that I can post them on my TR when we get back. He just does not get the whole TR and PTR thing :confused3. What he doesn't understand is that if it was not for reading the TR's and PTR's here on Dis, I probably would not have been as prepared for this trip as I am. I am sure that reading here on Dis is going to make our trip WAY better than if I was panning just using the tour books.:grouphug:

When are you going? Where are you staying?

It does stink!:lmao: I do have hope that I will get the luggage soon, just not for this trip. I am actually ok with it. I can save the money I would have to pay on baggage fees on myself at the shops in WDW.:rotfl2:

Payton and I was so excited about the trip it is consuming everything that we do. The suprising one is DH, he is so excited but trying not to show it. I can tell though. He keeps asking more and more questions about what I have planned everyday. He even admitted tonight to Payton that we probably has no idea how big WDW is. I just giggled to myself.:goodvibes
