PayPal Virtual Credit Card

A bunch of us have been going back and forth about this...I am liking it. One thing that I like is that MANY of these things make you sign up for their thing and then when you read you see that they are also subscribing you to like SaveSmart too...so really you are paying $2.00. Well I was just looking in my PayPal account and any of the companies that have tried to do that have been DENIED...so one less thing to worry about, so far I haven't had any problems getting my credits through SR for them.

Just a heads up...I know people are worried about CC numbers being stolen. The only place that I have actually used me REAL CC number is with: Blockbuster, Netfix and Scholastic. EVERYTHING else I have done with my PayPal account.

do you have to open a new cc or is it linked to your paypal account (ie the $$ you put in the paypal account or your linked bank account)? I really don't need to open up a new cc right now since I just opened one in January that I don't need or use.

You would have to go in and check...it isn't a CREDIT CARD, I know that forsure. What I have through them is a Debit Card that has a VISA logo so I can spend the $$ that I earn on eBay with that card, so I am not sure if it is linked to that. But even if it is, I highly suggest checking into it. I am LOVING it...love that these places can't keep trying to charge me...I am still cancelling everything, but you have read the horror stories. Even if they try to charge me they can't!!!

I have had the Paypal Debit Card for quite some time and cannot find where this is on there? Maybe since it's beta, it's just open to certain users? Or I'm just completely blind. Even tried doing a search on the site and there wasn't much more than an explanation of what it is, nothing on how to take part.

Oh I'm still doing the sites and paypal. I meant for now I'm not doing the cc offers because its too much of a gamble with are they going to cancel correctly or charge me more, not refund me, etc. I just am taking a small break. Once I hear good things again on here I'll start up. It sounds like the paypal thing would be a great solution though.

On my account, it is over on the left. Virtual Debit Card. I am going to say that I swear by it...so far I do.

I know I was worried about giving out my CC# so that is why I am using the PayPal thing. Then they can't just keep charging me.

I have only been signed up for about 9 days. So I guess I won't start to see the snags in the system for a little bit. I just hope that I get credit from SR for all of them, because then it isn't a money making thing...and I surely didn't need the Sleeping Aids or diet patches

The Paypal Debit card and the Paypal virtual credit card are two seperate things. Anyone can sign up for the Paypal Mastercard debit card. The virtual visa is by Paypal invitation only and I asked about it last week they told me that of right now they not accepting any more customers to try it. Same with the webcertificates someone posted about earlier this week. They are not accepting new customers.

The Paypal debit Mastercard is pretty much a credit card and it's hooked up through your Paypal account which has ties to your banking account so you are just as liable as using any other credit card. It has limits,etc.

Good to know. I am not sure if I got an invite or not...I remember seeing it and I checked it out. Hopefully soon it will become available to everyone. It is a great security feature!

But with that said, many credit cards will give you a one time use number, so check with them, I know Discover does. I tried to check out Chase and didn't see anything about it there.

I hope that it does become available to everyone. It sure makes you a little less wary about giving out your credit card information...and it is nice to know that they can't keep charging you for something that you have cancelled! I think that is what I like the most!!

The only time that I will use my REAL CC# is when I will want the items, like Scholastic book offers, Blockbuster, etc. Otherwise no way...not giving it out.
