I just got a refund notice from eBay for an order I never received. Then I got an email that said it is from PayPal. I paid with a credit card, don’t remember if the seller listed as going thru paypal. I have a PayPal account I haven’t used in years. I did go in & update my credit card info there. Anyway, my question is, will PayPal send the refund to my credit card? Or does it just sit like a credit on that site? Thanks for any help!

When you paid for the order, how did you do that? Did you go through PayPal? You don't have to have an account to pay via PayPal, but if you used a credit card to do so (via PayPal), that's the form of payment and it will refund that way.

Thanks! I think that’s what happened, it was lasted as thru PayPal but was definitely with a credit card. And the charge on the card showed up as the seller, not PayPal. I haven’t actually used PayPal in years, I always choose credit card. I know sometimes when I buy something, it lists PayPal, but says “pay with a credit card”. I’m pretty sure that’s what happened here. And since I don’t use PayPal, I was hoping it wouldn’t just be a credit there. Thanks for the help!

When I use a credit card to pay through PP and I get a refund it goes to the cc. I just had to cancel a hotel booked through Priceline. I paid with my Discover through PP. I got a notice of a PP refund but it actually showed up on my Discover in a couple of days, it never showed in my PP account.

I hope you logged into your paypal account directly and not through a provided link .There are scams out there saying they are paypal and asking you to update your info.I got an e-mail a few days ago, sent to "you",which was a tip off right away, saying that if i didn't update my info by clicking on the link, my account would be frozen.I didn't and it wasn't frozen
idk,but it sounds fishy to me that you haven't used paypal in "years" but now you're getting a refund in your paypal account?Hope I'm wrong

Thanks! That’s good to know.

Yes, I logged into my PayPal account myself to see if there was anything there about the refund. That’s when I saw my cc info was out of date. The email from EBay was in response to my request for help from them. It said my PayPal account was being credited, then I got a second email from paypal that said you got a refund for ebay. There was no link or request for anything from PayPal. Just the info & that it would take a few days to post. I am very aware of scams & these emails were both directly in response to my issue. Thanks for the warning tho. It never hurts to remind people about scammers!
