Ive seen talk on the boards about people making payments for the lodging part of the trip, wondering how that works exactly. Last last time we went to WDW we had two less children and had a travel agent do every thing. I think we will drive this time , as we are now a family of 6 flying would be very high. Probably will do adjoining allstar rooms. We are looking at the 3rd week of may 2005, as soon as school lets out. So could I make room payment over the next year or how does that work.

Last two times we went that's how we did it. I would make the reservation about a year ahead of time (if the following year's rates aren't out yet, they will quote you for the current year then adjust when the new rates come out). We charged monthly payments, so each month I would call and ok that month's payment. In both cases, special codes came out which I was able to apply and decrease the amount owed. At any rate, we were all paid off by the time we arrived! ~:p~

that would be so awesome to have rooms paid for prior to getting there, and keep DH happier, it been a struggle talking him in to going back. Last time we had our 2 boys, now we will have two little girls 5 & 7also w hen we go , that have never been there. So you can see its been a way overdue trip. Any ideas what two all star rooms will run in may. And if we need to move the trip up or back a day or two after booking is disney flexible with that?

That would be regular season, this year the rack rate was $99 plus tax (12%) per room. But there was a discount code available that brought it down to $74 a room. As long as you book through CRO, you are free to change or cancel up to 5 days prior to your arrival. If you book through WDTC, however, it's a 45 days out cancellation policy and possible change fees. ~:D~

what is CRO, and where do you get the discounts, like I said the last time I went through a travel agent, this time I will try to do it myself. Is there a chance that with codes you could get a moderate for under a hundred a night, of course we will need two rooms, the last time we went we stayed at the dixie landings and loved it. but maybe the character theming at the all stars would be the thing for our little girls. I just dont know where to start. When would one get the park passes? The last time we had special things on our passes that let you chose wishes, like breakfasts and golf, ect.

This is what we do as well, and it works out great. We just figure it in as a monthly payment and send a check every month until the room is paid for. Any codes that come out we apply to the res. It's really nice getting there and having no balance on your account!! One less thing to worry about when it comes to the budget.

CRO = Central Reservations Office

Check mousesavers.com for discount codes that you may be able to use. They come out at ir-regular intervals so keep checking.
If you already have a room reservation you can call CRO (Disney Cenral Reservations) and they can ususally apply the code to save you money.
Last year we saved a bundle when we applied a code to our reservation.

You can make payments...one or many, by phone very easily. We always try to get our lodging paid for before we go. We have annual passes so then it only looks like we are paying for food and "stuff". Hubby and I laugh about it.....we call it....."old money".....if we have already spent it....its almost like it feels like it is free when we are there..lol Nothing quite like the mind games we all play to make things afforadable.
