Payment for DVC membership and dues

Can we use Disney Gift Cards as a down payment for DVC? What about the Disney Visa Rewards card? Can either of these be used to pay annual dues? Thanks!

I don't know about the Gift Card, but yes you can use your Disney Visa for dues as well as the entire payment (if you have a high enough credit limit...and I wouldn't consider using the Disney Visa unless you were going to pay it off in full when the bill came). But it can be a great way to earn those reward dollars.

ETA: Oops...didn't see that you were asking about the Visa Rewards Cards. I'm not sure, but I do know that you can use Disney Dollars to pay your dues, so I would guess that you can use the Rewards Card.

Hi, I was told by our Disney person that I could use the Disney reward dollars from the visa card to pay the annual dues. He said you can just call them when you want to use it towards the dues.

I use my am ex and get frequent flyer miles. I pay in full when bill comes to avoid interest.

I sent disney gift card customer service an email asking if you can use Disney Gift cards to pay annual dues (or even to buy into DVC).
My kids' school has a scrip program and a portion of the price of all disney gift cards are kept by the school as a fundraiser.

Here is the response from Disney about using gift cards for maint fees and buy in....

Disney Vacation Club is not currently able to accept the Disney Gift Card for purchases or annual maintenance fees. This functionality will become available in the future. However, we do not yet have a specific date available for acceptance of the Disney Gift Card through Disney Vacation Club.

We recommend that you check with Disney Vacation Club in a few months, to determine if they are yet able to accept the Disney Gift Card for payment.
