payment explanation

Hopefully this is isn't a dumb question, but can someone explain the payment process to me? We will be booking a package and have the Disney Visa card. I am assuming when we book, we will make a down payment, and then the rest we can pay off as we go up until our trip and then it must be paid off? Could we pay down payment when we book, and then get online and put the remaining balance on the credit card?
Taking a big family trip this fall, and my mom is asking me all sorts of payment questions! Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you're doing a package you'll put down $200 at the time of booking. The balance of the trip will be due 45 days before arrival. You can make payments however you want up until that point.

So far the payment option hasn't been loaded onto the new website, so it's just calling in payments for now. If/when it is uploaded to the website you can make payments through there if you want.

With a package, you put the deposit down (something like $200?), then a certain number of days out you pay the rest of it. That's it.

Some people like to make payments along the way, but that wouldn't be something I would do.

If you're booking room only, you put down a deposit that's the amount of a night's stay, then the rest is charged *during* your trip. Again, some people like to pay in between booking and their stay, but that's not something I would choose to do.


I think the Disney Visa comes in to play because with packages, I believe you don't pay interest if you pay off the Visa bill bit by bit for a certain period of time. But that's not paying WDW, it's just paying the Visa bill.
