I'm considering buying a gift card to just pay for meals with. For those that have done this, do you have to pay your tip with cash or can you have it deducted off your gift card like credit cards? I'm trying to take the least amount of cash with me. Thanks!

We have used our Disney Chase Rewards Card a lot for meals an have always included the tip. We don't like the bother of carrying cash around so it's always included whether we're charging on our Rewards card or our KTTW. I'm assuming that the tip could also be included in a gift card.

Tips can be deducted from a gift card and many on the DDP put their "tip money" on a gift card so they can pre-pay for that too.

Yes, a gift card can be used for meals with the tip included :). We were on the DlxDDP this past December and I didn't want to carry alot of cash for tips, so I took a gift card specifically for tips ;). When it came time to pay for meals, I gave the waiter/waitress our KTTW card to have the meal deducted from that and the gift card was used for the tip.....it worked out great :thumbsup2.

I do this often and it can make everything A LOT simpler. Just make sure you always know how much is left on it, so that it won't "decline" if there is not enough to cover the requested tip, after it is run for the base cost of the meal.

It's super easy and nice to not have to carry cash. You can also use a gift card to pay off the balance on your room key, so you could charge to your KTTW card and then use a gift card to cover those charges.
