Paying resort with a check?

Just wondering what forms of payment do the resorts take to pay the final bill upon check out? I lost my check card and will not have a replacement before we leave, will they take a check? Couldn't find an answer anywhere. Thanks

I think you actually have to pay for the room on arrival, not checkout, and pay any additional expenses on checkout.

What about travelers cheques, or the card-type version of travelers cheques, or a prepaid MasterCard/Visa gift card-type thing (available at any Simons Mall and accepted anywhere these credit cards are taken except for car rentals, I think).
Anyway, I'd call CRO or your hotel directly and see what the policy is on accepting personal checks.

Travelers Checques now have a debit card available instead of individual checks.
Don't know the details, but have seen it advertised on TV. May want to check out their website.

I have payed with a check and yes you have to pay for your room stay upon check in. It was definately hassle and the next time we used travelers checks. We have had problems with them over charging our charge card so now we go this route.
