Paying off AP room ressie

I wanted to pay off my resort ressy for January .. I have an AP and was told that i cant pay off my balance until I check in to the hotel ... is this correct? I have only paid a 1night deposit thus far.

BTW I booked the ressie online using the Best Rate program.

Hard to believe but your info is correct. For some reason BRP ressies cannot be paid for until checkin.

I'm in the same boat. What I was told is it's beacuse the rate could be adjusted all the way up until we check in. It's already been lowered once, it was a nice surprise to see that refund hit the CC.
