This may seem like a silly question and I know I could just call WDW but I really hate all that button pushing and waiting on the line stuff. We want to pay cash for our room and have it paid in full before we leave. Can I just mail a check along with a copy of our confirmation to pay off our room before we get there?

I may be wrong but from previous threads, i belive the answer is no.
If you are doing room only, you can not pay them in full before you leave, the CM may take payment but then the payment would be refunded back to you as they shouldnt have taken the payment in the first place. With room only you pay the balance upon arrival.

Not sure about sending a check but we've done it with a credit card over the telephone for room only using our Disney Visa and last year Discover Card had a 5% rebate on hotels so we used it. I've been told in the past when I called that you couldn't but called back and got a different person and it wasn't a problem.

If you made the reservation by phone, you can pay it off at any time, either with a check or a credit card. I think there has been an issue with room only reservations made on line and paying it off ahead of time. May not still be an issue, but it was an issue at one time.

We have done it. We've paid by credit card and had it all paid off prior to trips. Then you only have incidentals or anything added on to pay for after the fact.

i'm sorry, i gave the wrong information then.. :guilty:

once others clarified i realized i was msitaken, it was reservations done online that were a problem

I have been paying $100 a month on mine by phone. HOwever, I noticed that the confirmation letter I got in the mail included an envelope along with a tear off portion on the letter to mail payment.

I did make the reservation by phone and I also noticed the tear off on the confirmation. I will just call them and then I'll let you know what the CM tells me.:thumbsup2

Here is what happened...
The CM looked up my reservation to see how my reservation was set up. She came back and said "yes you were set up as a room only reservation and as a general rule we only require one night as a deposit" but that I could certainly mail in a check (with confirmation number in the memo line) to pay off the room before we arrive. She gave me the address where I should send the check. I still plan on sending a check to them but I really got the impression that they would prefer that I didn't. It was the tone of her voice or the way she said things I guess that gave me that feeling. Anyhoo- the address is
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts
12698 Collections Center Drive
Chicago IL 60693
This is the address on the envelope that comes with your confirmation in the mail.

You can pay for your room before you get there. In order to hold it, you must pay one night's room and tax. The balance can be paid off any time before you get your key. You can actually wait until check-in to pay it off.

I've pre-paid room-only many times.

Be sure to send your check early enough to handle any issues, should they come up. Sometimes check verification places decline a check for no good reason and the person is stuck. At that point, it is cash or credit card. It doesn't happen much, but it does happen. In case of the (rare) check getting declined, you might want to know about that early. :)

We paid off our trip last year by sending a check to the address the previous poster gave. You will only get the tear off slip with the original ressie. We just sent a check with our ressie number on it and we had our trip paid off completely before we left. You can also check you progress by going to the Dinsey web site and going to "My Vacation". When you go into that area you can enter your ressie # and phone # and you can watch to see when your payment gets posted. Ours usually took 5-7 days from mailing to show up on the site. We are doing this again for our Dec. trip. It is very easy to do Good Luck.:)
