Paying for the Candlelight Processional Package

Original plan was for DH and I to go to WDW right before Christmas (DVC reservation) with the DxDDP. I currently have reservations for the Candlelight Processional. Well, my father-in-law is in the hospital and hopefully will be coming home soon, but my DH wants to stay behind so he can help his mother. My DNiece is thinking of going in his place, but we need to save some money on our meals so that I can get her a ticket. So I am thinking of not doing the DxDDP and just paying OOP for 1 TS meal/day and the rest CS. I want to keep my CP lunch package, but instead of paying with DxDDP credits, I want to pay with dollars on my Visa Reward Card. How can I prevent my credit card being charged? Can I charge the CP package to my room so that I can pay my room charges with my Reward Card? I also have a Disney gift card that I could use. I just don't have the actual cash so I don't want it charged to my credit card. Do I have a choice???

I have not done the CP before but I'm sure it works just like fantasmic.... you pay at the restaurant and can choose to use the dining plan or pay another way. I'm on the dining plan and have a CP package on 12/10...I only gave my credit card as a guarantee. I plan to pay with a credit card, not the dining plan at the restaurant.

But if you will have less people show up than your reservation is for... call dining reservations and have them change the number in your party so you don't get charged.

There's only a few places I know of where you have to pay in full in advance if not using a dining plan... the dinner shows (Hoop Dee Doo, Spirit of Aloha, Mickey's Backyard BBQ).

Yes, I think it is like the Fantasmic package. I called Disney Dining to be sure. The credit card is to hold the reservation. After the meal, you will get your check and you can pay however you like. Thank!
