paying for friends meal with our dining plan credits?

is this possible? we'll be with friends at disney this march & wanted to know if we can treat their meal with us on our dining plan credits. has anyone done this? thanks!

Can't give you a definite answer as sometimes it appears to depend on the restaurant, server or CM that you talk to. All I can tell you is that the one time we did it, after some family flew down and met us on our last day and we had credits left, we didn't have any problem at all.

When we were there during the free dining promotion we had 40 credits (2Ad 2Ch- 10 nights) and shared them between 6 of us (my Dad and brother came too) for 7 meals. It was never a problem.

We also shared our credits in September with others who did not have the dining package. It was never a problem. However, you never know when Disney might tweak the rules. I really didn't see a problem if I wanted to use 4 TS credits one night and treat others, that meant I had to pay OOP on another night for ourselves, this is not abusing our credits as far as we're concerned and the servers never had a problem with it either.

From my understanding, they just put the credits on your room key, and don't keep track of anything except the numbers you have used and have left. They are yours to use as you please.

We still had some counterservice credits left over on the day we were leaving and so we "paid" for some complete strangers meals. The CMs had no problem with it. We just walked up to some people in line and asked if we could pick up their meal and went through the checkout with them.

We used our multiple keys and treated the in-laws to one meal. It wasn't a problem.

Well, the way I see it..you have paid for the food ( even with the dining plan), why would they care who ate it? I think you are fine with what you are planning to do...
