Paying for Disney GC @ Sam's

Using Walmart giftcards? Has anyone tried? My credit card reward program includes Walmart but not Target. I was hoping to pick up a few more before our vacation in April.

I've tried to pay for a Disney Gift card with a Sam's Club gift card and was not allowed to do so.

We went to Walmart and purchased 1800. in Sams club GC's and charged them to our Disney visa - getting the Disney rewards. We took the Sams Club GC's to Sams and purchased Disney GC's. I used these GC's at the front desk at Wilderness Lodge to pay off the room charges.

This was 2 years ago when the $100. Disney GC included a $10.00 Disney Store (free) GC. So in addition to the Visa rewards and discounted price at Sam's, we also received $180. to spend at the Disney store.

I had read about this here on the Dis. The above worked in Ohio. Sam's may have changed their policy. Call first and ask.

Yes, I've used WM gift cards to buy WDW gift cards at Sam's Club many times.

I think 48.88 for a $50 card. I guess I'll go ahead & try it. Not like the Walmart giftcards will go to waste. . .

They also sell Disney gift cards at walmart. I saw them when I was there last week.

I can get Walmart gift cards at a discount, but I wouldn't want to buy some in hopes of using them to purchase Disney gift cards and my store doesn't allow it. Decisions.....

I paid for our entire package this way in 2011. I went to Sam's Club first and asked whether it was possible. They weren't sure, so they suggested we try with one card. Sam's and Walmart are right next to each other so it was easy to do. I went to Walmart, bought one card, took it to the woman who I had spoken to at the Sam's customer service desk, and bought one Disney gift card. It worked, so I went back to Walmart and bought enough to pay off our trip. When I took them back to Sam's Club, the cashier had no idea how to ring up the purchase, so the original person who had helped me came over and did it.

The moral of the story is that it may or may it work. If I were you, I would start slow and make sure it will work.

Purchase a $25 Walmart/Sam's GC, then go to Sam's Club and purchase the $25 Disney Giftcard. If it doesn't work, you still have $25 to spend at Walmart...if it works...you can go purchase more.

I purchase visa gift cards with Wal Mart cards all the time. Our credit card rewards points for a Wal Mart card is a lot less than for a Visa gift card so we get the Wal Mart cards and go purchase Visa gift cards for using when we travel. Our Sam's only carries the Disney cards around Christmas.

i'm curious...why were the prices different? are they both $50 GC? i would like to get some for our trip at the end of may.

I tried to purchase Disney Gift cards today using Walmart GC at SAMs and they wouldn't allow it. I even asked for the manager, so this must vary per store
