For FF/Corporate reasons, I nearly always rent with National, followed by Alamo and Enterprise.

I understand the additional driver rules for all and am members of all the "clubs."

However, and I called Alamo twice and received two different answers, does anyone know the procedure for adding an additional driver who IS NOT a spouse and DOES NOT live with me.

I want add my Brother-in-Law as he is a "city folk" and does much better driving in traffic than I do, however, both of us need to drive at one time or another.

Does this mean we are forced to personally go to the counter, which I was told yes and no by two different Alamo people.

Any experience....?

No you can added him using the kiosk check in. He will need to be with you and you will need to swipe his drivers license.

That's what one Alamo person said. The other said it had to be up close and personal....

So, thank you very much for the reply, that clears it up. Alamo, National and Enterprise are all sisters, so it should be about the same with them all.

I suppose with National, I would have to forgo the Emerald Aisle....Ah, well.././
