If you book a Disney hotel/park passes package, do you have to pay for the whole thing at once? Or can you put a deposit down and pay the balance off at a date somepoint before you leave? Thanks.

I believe you are to put a deposit down and pay full balance 45 days before check in. With room only it is due on arrival

That's exactly right.

On packages, you must pay $200 at time of booking and the full balance is due 45 days before check-in. If you are booking sooner than 45 days before check-in the full balance is due immediately.

You can cancel anytime up to 46 days before check-in with no penalty.

Cancel on days 44 to 6 before checkin and lose $100.

Cancel five days or less before check-in and you lose $200.

Thanks so much. Last time we went was a few years ago, and I'm pretty sure we just paid it all at once. Not sure we knew that we didn't have to. :rolleyes1

I had originally booked a package with Disney that included room and tickets. I was charged the $200 deposit and was told to pay the balance in full at 45 days prior to arrival. I did a lot of reading that said it's sometimes better to book everything separately because of the discounts you can find. I realized you can buy theme park tickets locally, in Can $, so this adds to your savings. (Assuming the $ will go down, although it is at par right now).

So I called back and then cancelled my package, then they refunded my $200, and rebooked me with a room only reservation. I paid for one night's stay up front, and the remainder when I ARRIVE (not 45 days out!).

However, my plans to buy theme park tickets at the Disney Store restrict me to 3,5 or 7 day base tickets or 5 and 7 day tickets with hopper/water park options, (must be used withing 14 days of first use). That's fine by me because I only want 5 day base tickets anyways.

You might want to check the price at Undercover Tourist. We've bought from there, and you have a full range of days, and extras.

We booked thru a TA using Nolitours- flights, rooms, passes, meal plan.
We paid a deposit and then half something like 30 days later and then the remaindeder when we picked up our tickets.

I was worried we were getting ripped off - but when we priced it separately it was actually less expensive.

When we looked at doing the At Par rates with CAA(does not include flight) the flights for those days had gone up and the flight alone cost more that the individual full package trips from Nolitours.

I recommend it- I see everyone getting these cheap rates and deals- but to be honest- our full package deal was easy and everything was taken care of for us all at once. We did get free waterpark passes for one day and something else - but we didn't use them! So I can't complain.

I am debating doing this again- as it was so easy and stress free ! But would like to save money as well.
