Paying bills when they come in vs. twice a month

What kind of problems? Did they bill you for the wrong amount? I've had autopay on many bills for years and never had this happen but I guess anything is possible.
We used auto pay happily for years until the two events this year. We were billed for the wrong amount both times. One was minor. It was only $30, and we were credited on our next bill. The other one was about $400, and they wanted to take six to eight weeks to process a refund, even though they freely admitted they were at fault. Luckily DH thought to call the bank and have the debit stopped. So, bottom line, no more auto pay for us!

OT, but what kind of jobs only pay employees once a month?
I had no idea this was anything unusual. I work for the state government. My previous job was at a university (government again) and I was paid monthly as well. Seems like most salaried people around here are paid once a month. Maybe we all work for the government! :teeth:

I remember hearing a couple different people (on the radio) that had problems with their utility companies massively overcharging them for various reasons.
Yes, my SIL had a huge, erroneous utility bill last year... it would have been quite a mess if that money had been taken from her account.

Oh - Capt. Kangaroo, congrats on the weight loss! I'm just about at 60 pounds myself (I still have 30 or so to go).
