Paying annual dues with Disney gift card?

I just saw this posted on the member website under "notifications" so I am assuming something has changed for 2025....

2025 Autopay Guidelines
While you are enrolled in Auto-Pay for Annual Dues, Disney Gift Cards and Disney Rewards Redemption Cards are not acceptable forms of payment per our terms and conditions. To make a payment with a Gift Card or Rewards card, please first un-enroll by selecting My Annual Dues > Manage Auto-Pay > Cancel Autopay.

I pay in full (with gift cards) when my dues statement is posted so this is not relevant to me, but I thought the info might help others who do use gift cards on a monthly basis.
Thanks for the heads up on this. I'll wait till the January payment is due to see what the DVC website lets me do..... You know how they are always late to implement what is said by Disney. I just liked spreading my payments out over the year with GCs, but I'll guess I might just have to buy them all in December/January now.

The rules and actual processes/enforcement, don't always align.

If they try to enforce this I will be talking with MS about it. Not acceptable honestly as the system has allowed it for years and there is not a good reason they can give to why they can't keep allowing it.

Where is terms and conditions that they are referencing regarding dues?

We pay for every Disney thing we can with Disney GCs we buy through Target. We use our Target Red Card to get a 5% discount. Every once in a while you can get a better deal through Sams or COSTCO but it's usually pretty limited amounts. Otherwise Target is the best, most consistent discount. You don't even need a physical card, but I keep a used card to put any unused balance on. Don't count on the Disney Gift Card site to manage unused funds - it's not supposed to be used that way.

I can only speak to paying in full. I've never tried using the monthly auto-pay.

The date of the Revision is 1/5/24 and we could pay with gift cards when enrolled in the monthly payment plan this year I believe.
I have no first hand knowledge as I unloaded gift cards in December 2023 to pay all of mine.

1. Annual Dues. Around the beginning of each calendar year, Club Members will receive a statement setting forth their
Annual Dues. Annual Dues are based on calendar years, not on Use Years. These Annual Dues may be paid in one of two
ways:

a. b. A single lump-sum payment due on or before the due date. Annual Dues are considered past due on the date
set forth in the governing documents for each DVC Resort or the arrival date of a reservation made with Home
Resort Vacation Points, whichever is earlier. If the Club Member’s payment arrives on or after the past due
date, interest will accrue from the due date, and a late fee may be imposed.
Equal monthly direct debit installments collected by the 1st or 15th of each month. The number of such
installments will be determined by the mailing of the statement of Annual Dues. The monthly payment option
is only available on a direct debit basis from a U.S. bank account.
Notwithstanding the Annual Dues payment procedure set forth in these Rules and Regulations, the board of
directors of the Association for each DVC Resort may amend the due date, past due date, the number of direct
debit installments, and the collection date for direct debit installments from time to time.

IDK if this has been said yet but Target annual 10 percent off gift card sale starts on Dec 7th. If you have red card that's an additional 5 percent and if you have Discover card that's an additional 5 percent off.
Just remember that is 10% off Target Gift Cards, You can not use a Target Card to buy a Disney Card but it is still a good savings.

Also along the the extra 5% from Discover you could also use a Freedom or Freedom Flex when checking out with Paypal to get an additional 5%

I read on slickdeals they are allowing the target redcard this year to allow an extra 5 percent off but you are correct it's normally not allowed on the annual sale.

I didn’t know about this. I keep hitting up the gift card sales but this will be hard for me to avoid. I love Target. But I have already prepaid my dues and have a lot more gift cards than my January trip requires. lol.

Meaning if you are paying with your Target credit/debit card for the additional 5%? (you can't get 5% off for having the a red card/circle card but pay with Discover/Chase?)

Just confirming Target Redcard vs Discover vs Chase Freedom Paypal are all 5% back and none stack.

Just checked out the SD thread. So it seems that this year they are thinking that you only have to be a circle member to get 10% off Target GC not use your RedCard, then you can use PayPal or Discover to get an additional 5% back. But as @eticketplease said above this has nothing to do with Disney GC.

How can I get the 10% off Target GiftCard deal?

To get the 10% off on Target GiftCards December 7 & December 8, you must be a member of Target Circle before making your purchase. New this year, the discount will be automatically applied to Target GiftCards at checkout for verified Target Circle members.

The website states the redcard is not eligible for 5% off of Target Gift Cards.

Sale is 10% off Target Gift cards only up to $500 while spending $450.
Target gift cards can not be used to buy 3rd party gift cards.

If using a Discover or Chase Freedom or Freedom Flex using PayPal you will earn 5% back on those purchases.

You would then end up with $22.50 back making the $500 card effectively costing $427.50 netting a 14.5% off.

Yes you have to be a circle member which is free to join.

Sign up your SO or other household members for an account if you want to purchase more than $500 worth of cards.

What you laid out has worked the prior two years (payment with Chase Freedom+Paypal) and expect to use this weekend.

Great to spell out the math for those on the thread.

Good reminder, as others stated, this deal has nothing to do with Disney GC's.

Wait….how do we do the Paypal payment? Is that an option? Because we have one of those cards!

First make sure you have the Chase offer activated.

Next you have to make sure to select that card in your PayPal account as default and not to withdraw from your bank account.

Then on the payment screen you should see add next to payment then it will give you the option to select PayPal.

I’m not sure if there is a way to do it in the store but this will certainly work for the target GC deal as I do it every year

Edit: PayPal is only necessary for the 5% on Chase cards. For discover you can just swipe at checkout or enter the card at checkout online. Both Chase and Discover require you to activate the quarterly categories before earning the extra percentage.

I think the 5% rebate (in UR points) is just on Chase Freedom cards (not any Chase card, such as Chase Disney won't help). Chase Freedom cards have bonus categories each quarter (with a $1500 quarterly spend limit/cap).

Press Release announcing Q4 Chase Freedom bonus categories

That is correct the PayPal 5% category is only for the Original Chase Freedom (Visa) and the Chase Flex (Mastercard)

It might be possible for PayPal or Target to be 5% if they received an offer from www.chase.com/mybonus

My categories were Amazon, Groceries and Gas for 5% up to $1,000 though on my Disney Visa and United Visa.

When are the 2025 annual dues actually assessed on our accounts? As of today, December 9, there is nothing for 2025 yet. It is to my advantage to pay these, if possible, by December 15--can I make a payment for annual dues that have not yet shown up in my account? If so, do I select pay by contract and just enter the amount I am paying, even though the balance is currently zero?
