On my next stay in the US, I'm going to open a bank account so that I will be able to have my annual dues deducted on a monthly base.

If paying in monthly installments, will this be pre-billing or post-billing?

1) Meaning, once the dues for a given year are know, say end of 2010 for the 2011 dues, will they start charging 1 12th of that amount starting in Jan 2011? But this would obviously mean they only get my full 2011 dues at the end of 2011.

2) Or are they going to start charging the 2011 dues on Jan 2010, based on the 2010 fees or maybe an estimate so that they have received the full 2011 fees at the beginning of 2011?

Which one is it?

For me, the difference is the following, since I will only be in the US in October to open a bank account (need to apply in person, as I don't live in the US and am not a US citizen), in option 1 I would be able to start paying monthly from the start of 2011 for the 2011 annual dues, but with option 2 I would still have to pay 2011 fully before being able to pay 2012 off in monthly installments during 2011.

You will pay the 2011 dues monthly in 2011 if you set it up that way.

You'll have a choice of the 1st or 15th of the month as your payment date. All January payments are deducted on January 15th regardless of which date is your normal deduction date. Works great, no interest.
