We have our annual dues taken out monthly.

If I want to pay some of it off how would it work?

I know I can go online and pay towards it, but will that make the monthly debit smaller or will it just make it end sooner???

So, say we pay $100 a month now or total $700 still due for the year.

I pay $200 now. Will that mean my payments will now be ~$71 ($500/ 7 months left)??? Or will it mean that I will just pay it off in Oct instead of Dec?

Thanks :)

A new question - at least one I've never seen here.

AFAIK, you can pay dues in a lump sum at the beginnning of the year for the whole year or you can pay them monthly.

You'll need to call Member Accounting during their normal business hours and ask your question. If you do, please let us know what they say.

Best wishes -

Ok.. I will call tomorrow

I know that online you can make payments to your annual dues, so we'll see how they'll apply them.

I am curious about this too. I was planning on just paying off the balance this month, but this is an interesting question that I may have myself later. I am looking forward to your answer from MS.

Here is what I got from MS:

You're only option online is to pay the annual dues statement in full.

If you have more than one contract and they are listed individually, they you can pay on one of them, but it still must be in full.

You can call MS and make a payment towards your Annual Dues (if you don't want to pay it in full)

Once you make a payment on your Annual Dues they will take the remaining balance and divide it by X# of months left in the year and that would be your new direct debit amount.

I think I'm going to do that b/c I have a card that gives me 1% back on my mortgage principle AND 0% interest... so I can earn $$ towards the principle of my house and still make the payments, but just not to DVC.

Don't be surprised if it works differently than they told you. This appears to be one of those areas where the answer will depend on who you talk to and what day of the week it is.
