Hey all,

I'm just wondering how much on average does a CP make per week and how much is taken out for housing per week? (I know each housing location is a different amount but on average.) Is it possible to save money? How much is average wage?

Thanks!

I live in a patterson 3br, so $85 a week is taken out of my paycheck.
On average, I work 40-45 hours a week, and with rent and taxes taken out, my paycheck is between $180-220 a week, depending how much overtime I have.

Thanks so much Laura for responding. So you had about $180-$220 per week WITH rent/taxes taken out? Was your Patterson room a single?

All the apartments even the one bedroom apartments, you have to share a bedroom. But as with DisneyGirl421 I averaged about $200 dollars a week depending on how much I worked. But I was also in QSFB and you get a premium for being in that role.

Yeah, and where you work could make the difference. I worked at two different locations with varying results

FA 08 at Columbia Harbor House at Magic Kingdom: $300-350
SA 10 at Beaches and Cream at Yacht and Beach Club: $200-250

And amount of hours really make a difference.

i dont think ill gt ot much over time seeing as im BBB its only open during the day it cloes at 7 but i do it 792 so its not to bad

During my first program in '07, I worked 40-50 hours per week and took home no less than $200 every pay check. I worked in QSFB and averaged 8 hours days for 6 days a week the majority of my program, which brought me in about $230/week.

This program, I'm in FSFB and only work 30 hours a week. I'm at a restaurant that's only open for dinner and I work 5 days a week for 6 hours a day. After my $94/week rent (Chatham 2br) and taxes, I only take home $100. I try to pick up shifts at my old location as often as I can since I can never seem to find anything on EHH to bring in more money, but I haven't been able to in about a month.

does Disney have any issues with CP'ers having a second job outside of WDW?

i have a set amount that i need to clear per week and even at 40-45 hrs , it wouldnt be enough.

i would most likely need to pick up another 15-20 additional at a part time gig.

i have a little over 2 weeks until my check in. pretty juiced up about it!! . .......and a little nervous.

any insight is appreciated.

You are more than welcome to seek other employment. However, note that all Disney College Program Participants are required to provide Full Availability.

The only other restriction is that you may not work in a Leadership or other similar position with a company or organization that directly competes with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc..

thanks for the info glendalais.

i seriously doubt that i would be offered a leadership type roll in a competing company during my time there, but you never know. =).

as far as having full availability, do you find, in your experiences with the CP that the hours are static from week to week or is there a tenancy to greatly vary?

.....thanks again!

That is not true...you only get a premium for that role if you work mainstreet or Tomorrowland in MK.

Unless you get a role like Housekeeping your hours will be different every week.

The premium doesn't show up as an extra $0.50 (or whatever it is now) separate from the base pay, it is built in. So, while I make $7.25/hr in my role, QSFB makes $7.75, or whatever the pay rate is for it now. There are certain locations though, like Main Street, that do throw in an extra premium on top.

I have done the program twice and while working at DHS i knew QSFB people and they did not get the premium and i also knew people who worked in Adventureland that did not get the premium.

Mainstreet, Tomorrowland, and i think Fantasyland get the premium.

I worked graveyard at the front desk a couple weeks and that pays a premium and it actually said premium on my check.

All (WDWCP/WDWCS/WDWICP) Food Service QSR H/H Cast Members, including Florida-Site Disney Internships and Programs Participants, receive a Magic Kingdom Park premium on the same basis accorded to Full Time Cast Members in Section 4 of the 2007 "Food and Beverage Host/Hostess (QSR) Non-Tipped" Side Letter Agreement between UNITE HERE (now Workers United) Local 737 and the Walt Disney World Company (now Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc.), which states as follows:

A QSR premium of seventy-five cents ($.75) per hour will be paid to Cast Members working in a Magic Kingdom QSR location.

Cast Members who work in a Quick Service Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park and fail to receive this Location Premium should contact Disney Shared Services Payroll.

Each area handles Premiums differently with regards to Labour Recording. Some areas (such as Magic Kingdom Park Restaurant Operations) have the Premium rolled into the base rate for their areas.

Most have it reflected as a seperate premium rate in the Company's systems, which is reflected as such on the Weekly Pay Stubs.

Well first hand experience tells me otherwise but so be it...i have seen their paystubs...

wow if thats true... then every one of my friends at MK from last semester would be extremely pissed because we made the same amount and i worked at EPCOT ... haha and i completely agree that they should get paid more because QS at that place blows

The only ones for sure that get a premium are people on Main Street but you cant talk to some people here...i have done the program two times and i know what i am talking about but this site is filled with new people with no grasp on what is going on....i almost died when someone said that ALL QSFB get a premium....
