Ok, so I was expecting a small paycheck this week because it included our 2nd of 3 furlough days (day off without pay due to the state's budget crunch). Imagine my surprise when I noticed they took 2 days out of my check instead of 1!!!! Thankfully there is enough to cover the mortgage payment, but that's about it!!!!

They are blaming it on a glitch in the new timesheet software...whatever, I just want my money. No Christmas shopping this weekend!

Funny how the errors are never in your favor. Well, do more shopping next payday. :sunny:

boo-hiss!

our company is having a company-wide furlough the week of christmas and they aren't spreading it out, so we all get half a paycheck.

hopefully it will be rectified in your next paycheck. :)

We once got paychecks that were too big at a company where I worked. They wouldn't even wait until the next pay period and withhold the extra money. We had to write them big checks. I guess it would be worse to get paid too little, but writing those checks wasn't fun either.

caityx2...the week of Christmas?? Geez, who do you work for.....Scrooge?

I was thinking the same thing Kermit....if they had forgotten to take the furlough day at all wouldn't they be asking me for a check immediately??

Yes Dan, more shopping next payday....or maybe some on the internet in the mean time!!!;)

I am pretty certain, that they by law have to pay you the decrepency now, not wait until the next paycheck, unless you say that they can wait. I will try to remember to look it up in the labor law handbook when I get back to work, I am home sick right now.

sometimes i think so. LOL

i suppose i shouldn't complain though -- i'm lucky to still have a job.

Our company once paid us double, but were nice enough to take it back over a couple of paychecks since some people had already dipped into it (most of us have direct deposit so it was already in our accounts when they realized the mistake).

Our payroll department has a high turnover in staff so we try to stay ready for short checks, etc. the check before last, I was shorted 20 hours. They made it up quickly though and had the money in my account the next day.
