I'm supposed to get my paycheck on the 4th (but since the 4th is a holiday, I should get it on the 3rd.) I'm worried that with the minister on leave, he'll forget to remind our treasurer soon enough (and I want my money! :) ) Would you call and remind the minister and if he hasn't taken care of it by tomorrow call the treasurer directly or would you just trust the minister to take care of it?

I would call the treasurer and just politely ask if the checks will be ready on the 3rd.

If he/she is getting paid this week also - they'll probably be ready on the 3rd!

:p

Toby's Friend had the perfect answer! (I especially like the idea that if the treasurer is also getting paid, they'll remember). ;)

The treasurer position isn't a paid position, but that was cute ;) He's the treasurer of the board. That's a good way to go about it...I just didn't want to overstep my boundaries (go over my pastor's head) in any way, but that would be a good way to go about things.

I would hope that the minister rememebers the things he needs to do with his job, including getting things ready early if there is a holiday.... I would think calling him would be seem pushy, IMHO.

I'd call the treasurer if you feel ok with seeming the same way with that person.

The way I look at it is they trust you to do your job, you should trust them to do theirs....

That advice and 2 cents will get you nothing at all. ;)

Jeff, the only reason I worry is that it seems like sometimes they wait until the last minute to get things done and that makes me anxious. I ended up sending a note saying that I was just reminding him to talk to the treasurer about my paycheck and any others that might need to go out this week (we do have a music minister but he's never here) and that I know he has so many things on his mind, that could be forgotten easily.

I just didn't want to overstep my boundaries .......

I wouldn't worry about it too much Honeywolfe. I did payroll for years and I can assure you that anybody responsible for getting the checks out is VERY used to getting that kind of question.

:p

Hey - we all want our money before a big holiday weekend. As long as you are polite, I can't imagine anybody getting upset.
