Pay for DDP at Check-in?

We have a room only reservation and would like to add the DDP to it. We are passholders, however our passes are currently expired. We will have our passes by the time we check in to our hotel. Will we be able to pay for the DDP upon arrival? Or does that need to be done in advance? (In which case we'd need to renew our passes sooner.)

You will need to call and have your room only ressies cancelled and then book an AP ticketless pkg with DDP. If you are outside of 45 days you will have to put down a $200 deposit, if you are closer than that you will need to pay in full. DDP must be added at least 3 days in advance. Also, if your time frame makes you eligible for free dining (and you want that deal rather than your AP rate) then you would have to add a two day MYW ticket for each person.

You do not need to have AP in hand to book AP discounted room, just tell reservations when you call. You do not have to have AP to buy the DDP.You do have to advise them if you want to buy DDP at least 3 days before you arrive.
If DDP is offered free when your going you can call and change reservation you have already to that.

Thanks for the info. I'm a little confused about adding the 2 day tickets for each of us though. How does this save us money over the AP rate if we end up paying for tickets? Can we use them to upgrade to an AP?

Depending on your situation, free dining (even w/the required ticket purchase) might save you more $$ than the AP room discount - you have to do the math. But you can use those tickets towards an AP.

We have an AP and are staying at ASMu with free QSDP, 2 adults and a junior even with the two day tix, FD is the best deal. You just need to price it out both ways and see what is better for you. Have fun!
