As you can see by my many posts today, we are getting serious about buying. My next question is...I saw on one of the threads that someone put the whole points purchase on their Disney Visa and got 6 months 0 APR...can someone enlighten me on this? Did you already have the visa or apply for it when you made the purchase? Should I apply for the VISA today and if so, how can I put the whole purchase on it for that rate?

I am the one who has posted that I put the entire balance on my card and am getting 6 months, no interest on the whole thing.

I already had the Disney Visa before I did my add on. So, yes, you would want to have it before you call as the card is through Chase and not directly through Disney.

When I put my charges on there, I didn't expect to get it all interest free, as the website said it was only up to $2500.

When I called to do the add on, I put on the first $2500.00, with the plan of financing. I ended up not needing to so I had them charge my card for the balance. The plan was to pay off the extra when the bill came.

However, once I saw that all the charges were listed as "qualifying", I didn't need to. I just paid off all of the monthly charges and then added just 1/6 of the balance. I just got the newest statement and it still shows the same thing.

Good luck!!!

Check the T&Cs for the Disney Reward Visa. I looked it up and the 0% for 6 months is good for the DOWNPAYMENT only up to $2500.

The "fine print" regarding DVC and the Disney Visa is that you can receive 6 months no interest for your 10% downpayment or $2,500, whichever is less. However, we put down $2,500 and our downpayment would have been less than that figure so I know that they obviously are giving some wiggle room for DVC purchases/downpayments. And, as Sandi said, she was able to put her entire purchase on her Disney Visa and receive the entire thing interest free for 6 months.

One other perk about the Disney Visa is that you will receive a Disney gift card for 1% of any charges that you spend. So, if you purchase, say, 200 DVC points at $19,200, that's a Disney gift card for $192 right there. Another perk is that your Disney trips (including Disney Cruise Line) also qualify for the 6 months no interest promotion.

We have a Disney Visa and put all of our household purchases on it each month (like a debit card) and just pay it off every month. We are able to get a nice gift card to take to Disney every year that usually covers our tips and souveniers. :goodvibes

I had a disney visa and put the down payment on it for 0% for 6 months and then I got a new disney visa with 0% APR for 12 months. I put the remainder on the new visa. You do have to have the available credit to do that though.

Hmmmm, that's interesting...is that Visa with Chase as well? Same perks??

I think the PP was referencing the 12 Months - 0% intro that the new Disney Visa carries. It's just an intro though and not offered after the intro period.

I just bought $13000 through DVD using my Disney visa. I was able to put all of it on my Visa and yes ALL of it was shown as 0% for six months.
It was done in 4 transactions so I had 2 down payments and 2 final balance postings....

So can I put $2500 down on my Disney Visa for 0% or just the down payment? (which is less than $2500)?

Based on my experience, you'll be good to go with putting $2,500 down and will get 0% for 6 months. (It even sounds like you can put the whole purchase on there and still be good to go.) :flower3:

It appears that Chase has decided to give 6 months, 0% interest on whatever amount you put on the Visa.

So yes, you can put $2500 or more if you want!

The fine print has actually changed. It's now supposed to be your downpayment, up to $2500, no 10% max. I also got the whole thing, in 4 payments of $2500 or less, to qualify as no interest for 6 months. I would not have asked for this, it just ended up that way on my statement.

Here's the "fine print":
"If you use your Disney Rewards Visa Card in making the down payment on the purchase of a Disney Vacation Club Contract, the Daily Periodic Rate for the first 6 billing cycles following the date of the purchase is a promotional fixed APR of 0% provided that no payment on your account is past due at the time of purchase. The rate will apply to that portion of your initial down payment charged to your Disney Rewards Visa Card up to $2,500. After this promotional period, the applicable APR for purchases specified in your Cardmember Agreement will take effect on any Contract balance remaining on your Disney Rewards Visa Card account. The 0% APR does not apply to Contracts purchased using any checks that access your account. Subject to these restrictions, use of your Disney Rewards Visa Card for the initial down payment is subject to the same terms and conditions, including rate and fees, as qualified Disney Vacation Package purchases. See your Cardmember Agreement for APR details. Offer subject to change or cancellation without notice."
