You can't call each month to make the payment. In order to do monthly payments, you will be required to set up an auto-draft from a bank account. Is there a way to setup payment from your DVA account to automatically pay your DVC dues? I would just hate to have to call DVC each month to make the payment, I would rather them take it directly from my DVA account each month.
Right, you don't have to leave it in there for 120 days. But you also don't have to use DVA at all. You can combine gift cards on the gift card website.Got it. As long as the account has been opened for over 120 days, I can put the amount of dues into the DVA and pay it from there? I don't have to have the full amount of dues money sitting there for 120 days, correct?
The account only has to be open for 120 days. It doesn't even have to have a balance in it. It just has to be open.Got it. You just give Member Accounting the DVA number. That's how it worked last year. I don't know how it will work this year. According to the FAQs for the DVA, you are not supposed to be able to pay your DVC dues with the account. Your payment may or may not qualify for the $20 bonus for each $1K spent.I just want to use DVA to get the $20 for each $1,000.
Are you saying once the funds are in the DVA, you transfer it to a Disney Gift card or you just give DVC your DVA number?

Another thing to keep in mind is that your maintenance fees will be due before you reach the 120-day mark if you have not already opened a DVA. Your DVC account needs to be paid by Jan. 15 and will be considered past due on Feb. 15 regardless of your UY.
I haven't seen any confirmation that DVC dues would qualify for the bonus $20 per $1,000 gift card.I just want to use DVA to get the $20 for each $1,000.

No, while there is a way to have a gift card issued, it would clearly not qualify for the bonus. You'll call DVC and tell them you're paying with a gift card, but give them the DVA account number.
Correct. Unless the bonus card works. You're welcome to be the test case for that.So there is really no advantage to using DVA? You just consolidate gift cards from Target/cardpool/raise to pay?

I guess that it will depend on how much you pay in maintenance fees. DVC recently sent a letter and an email to members stating that they will only accept a maximum of 5 Disney GCs for payment. You can combine GCs on the Disneygiftcard website for a maximum of $1K on each card. If your dues are more than $5K, then the DVA would be the way to go. Otherwise, I see no advantage to using the DVA, and given their track record of bad IT, I would not bother with it.So there is really no advantage to using DVA? They don't ask for a PIN. At least, they didn't ask when I paid my 2015 fees.I'm new to this and a little confused about one aspect: While I understand that my DVA account number is similar to a gift card account number I don't see where it has a PIN like gift cards. Won't member accounting notice this difference?
