After a lie in following last nights MNSSHP, we decided to go to AK arriving about 11am. We headed for Camp Minnie-Mickey and watched Pocahontas and her Forest Friends followed by Festival of the Lion King.
Upon leaving the Lion King theatre we both agreed that it was time for lunch, unfortunately our preferred counter service Tusker House has closed for conversion to a character meal, so we decided that we would dine at Pizzafari. I went for the Cheese Pizza followed by the Chocolate Cake (no surprise there) and Ruth had the Hot Italian Style Sandwich followed by the Apple Pie, we both enjoyed our lunch and felt ready for our 2-week safari.
We wandered round to Africa and managed to catch the African musicians. The standby queue for Kilimanjaro Safari was 50 mins, so we picked up a Fastpass and went on the Pangani Forest Trail where we watched the Meerkats and the Gorillas.
After wed finished wandering through the Forest Trail we only had to wait a few minutes before our Safari Fastpass window opened. We were seated at the back of the truck and I think our driver was trying to hit as many bumps as possible, taking photos was a nightmare although Ruth did get some good shots of the elephants.
After we had our safari cut short by those poachers, it was time for Mickeys Jammin in the Jungle Parade which we decided to watch outside Its Tough to be a Bug.
After the parade we made our way out of the park back to our resort to freshen up for our 7pm ADR at Le Cellier. We arrived at Epcot about 6pm and decided to catch O Canada before dinner. We checked in and surprisingly were seated very quickly despite the restaurant being very busy.
I had the Duck Confit for my appetiser (delicious)
The 14oz New York Strip Steak for my Entrée
and decided that I would be adventurous and try the Campfire S'mores for dessert
Ruth went for the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup for her appetiser (she always has this)
she decided on the 7oz Fillet Mignon for her entrée
and Apple Crumble for dessert.
We always look forward to eating at Le Cellier and we have always had a good meal there. After dinner we decided to find a spot for Illuminations, we strolled around World Showcase to Japan and decided to watch from there. After Illuminations we quietly wandered around the rest of World Showcase and had a look in Mouse Gear on our way out of the park.
