Today we are heading for our last visit to the Magic Kingdom for this trip. We arrived about 10am and had a look around the shops on Main Street before watching Dream Along With Mickey.
Next we were able to catch the Main Street performers doing the Welcome show, this had Ruth welling up again. Shes gets teary at the best of times but it tends to be more heightened towards the end of our vacations.
We decided to hit some of the Tomorrowland attractions before heading to the Contemporary Resort for our lunch ADR at the Concourse Steakhouse. We caught the resort monorail round to the Contemporary, arriving a little early. We checked in and were seated immediately, from our table we had a great view of the monorail coming and going.
Ruth decided to have the Onion Rings to start
followed by the Steak Salad, which she loves
and the Carrot Cake to finish.
I went for the Mixed Greens,
followed by the 10oz New York Strip
and my usual Triple Chocolate Cake to finish.
We both like this restaurant and would recommend it, we have always had good service and good food there. After lunch we had a nosey around and took a look at the construction progress of what is expected to be the Contemporary DVC (at least thats what next years Official Guide says it is).
We hopped back onto the monorail and travelled back to the Magic Kingdom. We wandered round towards Frontierland and did the Country Bears before finding a suitable spot to watch the parade.
After baking in the sun we decided to get some air conditioning and ducked into the Hall of Presidents. Next we went for a ride in a Doom Buggy before hitting Fantasyland, we picked up a Fastpass for Peter Pans Flight (50min queue) before going on Ruths favourite attraction, Its a Small World. This was followed with Snow Whites Scary Adventures & Mickeys Philharmagic, before heading off to Neverland with Peter Pan.
Having done most of the attractions in Fantasyland we decided to head round to Adventureland to try the Citrus Swirl from Sunshine Tree Terrace. After our snack we went on the Jungle Cruise followed by Pirates of the Caribbean. The standby for Big Thunder was quite long so we picked up a Fastpass before heading to our favourite MK counter service, Columbia Harbour House for something to eat. Ruth went for the Galley Salad & Apple Crisp, while I went for the BLT salad & Chocolate Cake.
After being suitably refuelled we headed back to Big Thunder before catching Spectromagic. As soon as the parade was passed we quickly headed for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and bounced along with Tigger before heading round to catch Wishes from the Hub.
After the fireworks we got an ice cream each from the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor (trying to use up some snack credits) and sat outside the Plaza restaurant while the crowds made there way out, before quietly walking down Main Street for the last time this trip.
