Paul Looper (DFTW photographer)

Hi everyone! So, I love checking out everyones pictures. I contacted my coordinator about photography (we're doing an Escape, but adding MK/MGM Portrait too) and I've seen a lot from Paul Looper on DIS that I love.

Any comments about him?? (Or anyone else for that matter...)

After seeing great shots from Paul on here I requested him for our wedding photographer last week. He was fantastic! He was lots of fun - even DH had fun taking picutres! He showed me a few of the shots he really liked as we were going and I'm really excited to see how they all turn out. I'll post a link on here when I get my proofs next week!

I've seen a few other brides that have used Paul and I'm really impressed! I would like to request him for my wedding next year, but I hear that although you can do this, its not guaranteed that you'll actually get the guy you request. What did Disney tell you when you asked for him? Just curious, I am hopping our chances are really really good that we get him! thanks!

I didn't hear back yet -- sent an email to our coordinator, Karen. I'll let you know when I do. If that IS the case, which I'm sure it is, I'd rather have him for our portrait session at MK/MGM then the ceremony (which will be all of 30 minutes long)...

Your WP will schedule the shoots for you. When you do your planning kit and submit it, put your request on there. Also, if there are specific locations or shots, include that on your forms as well. That way the photographer can map out what you want in advance. We had Ty for our MK and Paul for our Honeymoon at AK. We were pleased with both. Both were very professional, informative and fun. Paul did tell us that they try to honor requests, but it depends what has already been scheduled for the photographer. We didn't know any of this before we went, so we just got luck of the draw, but were very pleased with both Ty and Paul. They have both been working with DPS for years and know their stuff !

we have requested paul for our mk shoot. its written on our BEO but its not guaranteed but I will be very upset if I get someone else who i have seen bad pics from

I don't remember Ty's last name. Sorry. But I am sure they would know who you are requesting. I don't have any photos at work, but I will see if I can scan and upload some of my proofs from my MK shoot that he did. I rank him right up there with Paul.

Ok ladies, I heard back from our coordinator via email - she had this to say (which I half expected anyway)

Hi! Yes, I have submitted your request for Paul, but it can not be guaranteed that he will be available for the ceremony and/or portrait session. Photography always tries to fulfill these requests, but because of schedules, vacations, etc. it's not always possible. If for some reason he's not available I'll ask for Ty, Vicki or David. They are amazing photographers. We won't know definitely until about 2-3 weeks before the wedding.


Sounds good -- I told her I heard great things about Paul and Ty, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! Does anyone else have Karen as their planner?

The wedding was perfect - we couldn't have asked for anything better, and we just did the very basic Escape package. I was hoping to start my TR this weekend, but with all the recent happenings on here I'll definitely be a little more cautious about what I post!

Did everyone see the Disney Royal Treatment show on travel channel? I'm just watching it now as it was on during my disneymoon but as I'm watching the portion with the wedding, I realized that the male photographer is Paul! I know for me when I found a pic on here of my planner before hand it just made me feel more at ease to put a face with a name, so watch it again if you have it DVR'd like I do!! Our favorite photographer is famous!!

I asked for Paul only one week ago after reading this thread and my vow renewal is on May 27. I have confirmation already that we got Paul for our MK photo shoot

ok, one more thing on Paul. My sister, who knows nothing about the boards, decided that she had to take a pic of Paul at our wedding because in her words "who ever thinks to take a picture of the photographer?". Good thinking sis!! So here he is...
