I said that plenty of retired coaches have stated that this is a practice that many teams have engaged in. Just because they weren't caught doesn't mean it didn't happen. So, if a murder was to be committed but the offender was not caught does that then mean the murder did not occur. I will take my lumps as a Patriots fan. I certainly didn't say that what we were caught with wasn't against the rules. I simply stated that their are plenty of teams who break rules. Most coaches don't snark on others, but you can't seriously beleive that the PATS are the only evil doers in an entire league. We were caught and paid our dues. We lost a first round draft pick. I'd venture to say that is quite a loss to most teams.
If you want to think that all of the Patriot's success is due to trying to signal steal so be it. Maybe I want to think that some teams' success are due purely to players using enhancement performance drugs or "tweaking" salary cap numbers, or stealing playbooks (which has been reported) but I think most of that stuff has, unfortunately, been part of the game (widespread) for a long time.
I love football and good rivalries in general. I have been a bitter sox fan and Yankee hater, but as a sports fan I try to remain objective and give credit where credit is due even if that means a nod to the Yankees or the Steelers, Colts, Jets etc. We were outplayed tonight. There have been many nights when the Steelers were outplayed by the Patriots. When you are man handled in the trenches you generally lose.
