Still researching, and planning, and dreaming .......
::yes::

I think I have this narrowed down now.
But I have a few questions......... :confused:

Is it still true that if I book our stay so that the first couple days are in VALUE season, but the last couple days fall into REGULAR season, that we will be quoted the entire stay at Value prices?
( I checked the WDW website and it shows us to save 234.00 off a six night stay at WL , compared to plugging in Regular season dates--does that sound right?)

And, if I go ahead and book for next Fall now, but then this summer a good package deal becomes available, like say the FTP from last year, how easy is it to just transfer any money we may have paid in to a new reservation?
I've learned alot from you all here. Mainly, that if a pkg. deal does becomes available, to call and have a CM check availability for the new package first, then cancel my existing ressie second.Right?

I believe you are correct in that if your trip BEGINS value season, your entire stay will be for value season prices, although remember Disneys policies change all the time. On your second question about transferring deposits and payments to a new found cheaper pkg or with a new code,it is VERY simple. I did this a couple years ago and it worked out fine. (just bring all your paperwork with you and remember to WRITE DOWN THE NAME OF THE PERSON WHO CHANGES YOUR RESERVATION, this way if there is a problem, you will at least have a date/time of call and the name of the person. I was equally impressed at how Disney refunded my deposit by check within a WEEK, when I had to cancel:( a trip. (universal needs to learn a thing or two about applying deposit to NEW reservation AND about refunding the money due to you... I booked 4 mos. in advance, changed the dates and couldnt get ANYONE, (supervisors included) to follow through on their promise to either transfer my deposit or send me my refund... I actually ARRIVED FOR MY VACATION IN PERSON at Hard Rock and had to speak to a very high up in the company to get my money due me!!) anyway, don't worry, Disney is usually VERY good at taking care of your requests... you can always call again to verify everything is correct. :wave2:

Yes if your ressie start in Value season you recieve that same price through-out your stay it also works the other-way, if stay starts in Holiday Season then goes into Value Season you would be charged higher rate for your stay. Most people would then make two ressies for the stay to recieve lower rates once Value Season starts.

If you make reservation for room only for next Fall you would have to pay 1st night rate in advance...I put the 1st night on credit card...then if a package becomes available all you would do it cancel original reservation 5 day in advance of arrival date, and recieve credit back to card.

Hope this helps...:earsboy:

MAGICinMYHEART and lorivegas,

Thankyou so much for your replies.
I think I will go head then and make our ressies as soon as next week.
We normally book a dream maker +silver package, but I could just pay the 250.00 deposit, and wait and see what may become available as far as deals before I make any more payments.

Then again, if transferring over monies paid is as easy as you say it is....it shouldn't matter right?

Thanks again!
