There is always a lot of discussion on various paths at WDW, including OKW to DD, BWV to MGM, and BWV to Epcot.

So, last week while at WDW, I took the GPS receiver, and walked (and measured) the lengths of these paths.

So, here's the second report: The path from MGM to Boardwalk Villas.

We orginally caught this path at the ticket booth just outside the entrance to MGM and followed it to the Luna Park Pool at the Boardwalk Villas.

The total length as measured by the GPS was 0.66 miles . This is from the MGM ticket booths to the edge of the Luna Park pool itself. From the start of MGM you actually reach the first BWV building at 0.55 miles.

While I didn't take any photos on this walk, I had taken photos on a previous trip, a cold day in January. Click on the links below as desired.

1. From MGM exit straight, staying along the walkways near the water's edge. The actual path begins just past the last seating areas across the road from the charter / group bus barking areas.

2. The path follows along the waterway.

3. The boats to and from the Swan/Dolphin, Beach Club, and Boardwalk resorts will be on your left.

4. The path passes underneath Buena Vista Drive. Note that the chain link fence and gate visible at the far end of the underpass have since been removed.

5. After the underpass, the path approaches the resort area. Boardwalk Villas are just ahead on the right.

Next report will be BWV to the International Gate entrance at Epcot.

hi: thanks for the accurate measurement. my guess was between 1/2-3/4 of a mile, so i was close.

The actual path begins just past the last seating areas across the road from the charter / group bus barking areas.

Maybe that's why the standard view rooms are cheaper; you're closer to all those barking buses!:)

Thanks for the measurements; I know the walk is a lot quicker than waiting for the boat after Fantasmic!

My sister, mother and I all walked the path to MGM each time we went there. We also walked home to the BWVillas. Lovely walk although I thought it was longer than a mile. I really need to get out and exercise more!!!! take care, Tammy:p

Having never stayed at BW yet (its coming up in November!!) I haven't made the trek yet, but am looking forward to it. I remember posts from a while ago before the path was officially open about the chain link gate. My question is, was it difficult to get around this gate? I remember there was a picture of the gate once, and it looked like you couldn't go around it, but was it possible to go up and cross the road and go back down to the path? And now that the path is open, can you bike to MGM?

The gate is now gone and the pathway is fully completed. Before they were discouraging people from using this path because it was not fully lit. Now it is lit on the entire path. It really makes a nice walk back from MGM after Fantasmic. I would have guessed about .75 miles when we walked it so I guess that I was close too. We walked to and from twice in one day with no trouble at all.
