Last month when we went to WDW, I decided to let the misses sleep in while I go exploring Magic Kingdom. It was extra magic morning hours so I quickly made my way to Space Mountain. Anyways, I get off the ride so I decide to check out the "secret pathway". I thought it was mighty nice that no one was walking around except for a couple of CMs who said Hi and I was able to just tape without background noise. So I walk into toontown with no one there, which was just weird. I see the CMs set up shop then I realize it's closed to the public! No one seemed to mind me being there though, which was nice. However, I was worried I was being watch on security cameras and was going to be approached by Mickey's goons. ;) So I try to walk out quietly and I see a closed sign on the Mickey's toowntown entrance. No big deal really, but weird that Disney would make it so easy to walk into a place that is closed to the public. What if I had children with me and there have been a character without its head mask? It was fun though to see an area of Disney before its presentable to the public. I didnt have the courage to record though once I realized it was closed to the public.

Toontown is never open until 1-hour after the rest of the park.

Seeing cleaning and maintenence crews working is certainly not unusual in any section of WDW, open or not.

BTW, no character would EVER be "on-stage" (open or not) without proper "attire".
(This does take into account the unfortunate "falling down" incidents.) :goodvibes

It was really no more a big deal for you to be there before opening time than it is to be in the park after "closing time" (which happens every single evening). Or to be allowed in early to walk to a before-opening-time ADR.

But if you'd like to think that you were seeing some super-secret "back-stage" kind of thing... okey-dokey.

(Better still, why not take one of the guided behind-the-scenes TOURs?)

I've been on this pathway a few times, but only after the park was all up and running. It'd be neat to try this sometime before Toontown is open. Thanks for sharing. :thumbsup2

It's a great pathway. I really, really wish the stroller people would use it more often. There's lots of room there to push them around. Of course, then it might not be so secret anymore and defeat the purpose. ;)

What secret pathway? There is no secret pathway!!!! :rolleyes1 :ssst: (I guess it's OK to share with our DIS friends, but we don't want it to become too well known!!! :teeth: )

Oh no my public private breast feeding spot. I have nursed 2 of my kids in that beautiful shaded area with not one person ever walking by. SHHH don't tell.... ;)

Can someone clue me in on the secret path?

I clicked the link above but it wouldn't come up for me.

A path from SM to MTTF will be great to use on my trip
coming up in...............15 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

path what path :rolleyes1

it is not a secret path. It is just one of the roads less traveled . . . . .
