I have recently read that there is a walking path from the MGM to the Boardwalk Inn and then to Epcot. Does this path really exist? If so, how long is the walk(time wise)? Is it worth walking it or should I just take the bus?

I am not sure, but I wanted to say "Hi!" to a fellow MN-Diser!

Have a great time in WDW for your "Disneymoon"! My DH and I are going to WDW in just about 10 days to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary and we also had our "Disneymoon" 2 year ago!

Hope someone will chime in here with an answer.

I take that path every time I am at Epcot and want to go to MGM or vice versa.
The path is along the back of Boardwalk, along the canal. You can get there by walking to the back and just stay along the water. Do not go over to Swan and Dolphin, it is the wrong way.
I walk at the same speed that I walk at the parks and I always beat the boats to the other park. Plus the exercise is good and I love the quiet for a few minutes. I feel I am walking so I can have that margarita in Mexico or dessert at dinner.
My companions don't enjoy the walk so I sometimes take it alone and let them take the ferry, but when my handicapped friend is with me and I am pushing the wheelchair he has no choice but to go with me. Peggie

************* you beat me to it! I was going to say hi to a fellow Minnesotan too :)

Can't help you with your original question but we went to Disney for our honeymoon too. You'll have a wonderful time!

Mickey hit the nail on the head...

i would say that its like a 15 minute walk or so..

Thanks everybody. And thanks for the hellos and the well wishes on my disneymoon. I don't know what I am more excited for the trip or the wedding.

Just trying to visualise the direction you would take - so if you depart Epcot via International Gateway, you would follow the path along the canal that takes you past the Beach Club on your right and keep on walking, is this right?

Right, If I remember correctly you bear left near Atlantic Dance Hall and go along the canal. One night I timed it (walking the reverse way), and from the time I walked out of the gates at MGM until I was inside Epcot at the International Gateway (having gone through security and the ticket gate) took me 25 minutes at a steady walk.

I think it's actually faster if you go the other way, over the bridge to the Boardwalk, passed the Boardwalk Inn, and then along the canal with the Boardwalk Inn on your left and the canal on your right. If you go towards the Beach Club I think you have to meander more, especially around the Swan and Dolphin.

I've done the walk, but it's so hot right now, I would save my feet & my energy. The boats are very pleasant and they are air conditioned!:smooth:

Take the boat, especially if you are going when it is hot. You can always walk to the Boardwalk and then take the boat from the Boardwalk to MGM.

The walk from MGM to BW would be about 15 minutes, and the BW to Epcot walk us maybe 10. If you're leaving the Int'l gateway, you go over the little bridge that goes left (follow signs to BW), walk around the boardwalk shops and restaurants until you get to the bicycle rental. You can then go left on the path and under the building toward the pool. Walk around the pool to the right, and down a path and stairs that lead to the canal. You'll walk along the canal for a while - under a bridge, etc. You'll see MGM across the water on your right. You'll walk past the bus parking area and then turn right into the entrance.

There are ferryboat docks at Epcot, BW, MGM, Swan/Dolphin, and BC/YC. I forget what in what order the boats stop at the docks, but you could always ask and find out. You could go from Epcot to MGM on the boat, but it will probably make a few stops on the way. Because of that, the walk is probably faster - but if it's hot or you're tired - you might want to just sit on the ferry.
