Pastries from around the World (Showcase, that is)??

My favorite is the Kringla almond sweet pretzel in Norway.

Stop by Mouse Gears first and pick up some Goofy Candy Co. ziplock bags. The pastries fit perfectly and they'll stay fresh! :goodvibes

France and Norway have by far the best pastries!

Where is Mouse Gears?? I've never heard of it. Great tip. thanks

The chocolate hazelnut cake or gelato in Italy are very good.

Last month I got a German Chocolate Chip cookie in Germany which was so moist and yummy!

Obviously the school bread and anything in France in great.

yum, I love the bakery in France, we will definitely be going next month, I can't wait.:)

We used to love going to Norway and France for pastries but over the last 4 or 5 trips we have noticed the food has gone waaaay downhill and the tastes are just blech.

Now I go for chocolate somewhere...I want to try Italy and Morrocco the next time we go, maybe they have better pastries

Mouse Gears is the MEGA Disney merchandise store in Epcot (in Future World). Towards the rear of the store, they have a very small candy section. Fill a bag type candy. The bags are really sturdy thick plastic (heavier than average ziplocks), their really long and have a ziplock closure.

I LOVE those Kringla Pretzels from Norway. They fit perfectly in the bag and stay fresh for hours. I take them for a snack for the airport many times. I usually eat it on the bus ride to the airport :rotfl:

They're just handy if you want to take a pastry "to go". The bakeries don't really have "to go" containers. They'll put a pastry between two plates and put it in a bag. It won't stay fresh for long.

Epcot offers so many good snacks there's no way you can eat them all in one trip and NOT get sick. We always take something for later or even breakfast the next morning.

I'd plan a morning in Future World, then head into World Showcase just as their opening at 11am. Have lunch at 12 noon then grab your goodies to take back to your room.

Enjoy! Everything is delicious in Disney!

Thanks so much for that!! That's awesome and I'm going to get those bags for sure!! And your plan of action sounds great!! That's what we did last time, but we had four other people with us and kinda just sailed right on through everything. This time, I want to make a full day of Epcot and see everything!! But, I honestly don't plan on eating much of the treats that day!! We're going to the beach the next day, so I'm going to have a cooler in the car to put them in and save them for the next day.

Do you have recommendation for a QS lunch??? We have an ADR for Tutto Italia for 6ish.

Thanks :cutie:

I know it's not a pastry but I LOVE the chocolate from Italy. It's sooo good and very creamy. :lovestruc

I agree with goofygal532, the (kringla) sweet almond pretzel is the best pastry in Norway. Oh my is it delicious! And I really like the rice cream. :)

And France, uh everything? :rotfl: My favorite is the Nid d'Abeille. It's filled with a rum pastry cream. The pastry is in the picture that kidnaigirl posted, it's on the bottom, next to the chocolate mousse and the strawberry tarts.

Well, we go to WS for the Food :rotfl2: We like to eat a little in every country. We like the combination plate in Mexico, offers a little of everything. Last trip, I brought that back to our room for a late afternoon snack. We'll order a kid's meal in Japan to share, an order of fish & chips to share in UK, share the quiche and a pastry in France, etc... We've never done a sit down CS, there's just so much stuff to sample :rotfl:

My DH is a turkey leg addict. He HAS to get one in the American pavillion.

Just keep in mind that Tutto Italia offers lots of heavy pasta dishes, don't fill up too much on lunch and snacking and ruin your yummy dinner.

Where can I find School bread, again??

You will find it in Norway.

I love to also take one back to our room and eat it the next morning for breakfast!

Thanks! I'm trying to keep everything straight!!

I thinkI might also try to get to POFQ and try Beignets ( I think that's how you spell it). I hear they are also very yummy!!

Oh yeah, I was going to specifically mention the strawberry tart at France, but I got caught up in posting my picture and forgot! The strawberry tart is one of my favorites. The shell is sort of like a sugar cookie. It is filled with white chocolate mousse and loaded with fresh strawberries on top. Love it!

Its not white chocolate mouse, but a pastry cream. I loathe white chocolate (strange I know), so if that was anything close to a white chocolate I wouldn't have touched it with a 10' pole. OK that may be an exaggeration, but trust me - no white chocolate in there! :goodvibes

That's too funny :rotfl2: Hey, If you don't like, you don't like it :cutie:

I know I can smell a grapefruit a mile away, and that's where I'd like it to stay. We all have that one thing we can't stand!!

The Churros in Epcot's Mexico are great! They are the only edible churros at WDW as they are freshly fried. Just look out for the dive-bombing seagulls. Those available at the other parks are dry and cardboard-like. Good luck on your tour - my husband and I love the idea:rotfl2:

BTW - thanks for the tip on the bags from MouseGears :worship:

They stole a bagel off my plate during breakfast outside by the pool at the Poly once! My mom just turned to me and said, "well, you really didn't need that anyway" :rotfl:

The WORST spot for seagulls is in MK near the turkey cart in Frontierland. I HATE going over there. My DH loves turkey legs, I stand so far away from the cart. The birds sit on the roof of the cart looking like they will attack you the second your handed your turkey leg! :rotfl2:

You're welcome! :flower3:

Thanks for the photos of Boulangerie Patisserie. I always feel so rushed on line in there. I never get to see the full display of pastries. I always get the quiche and something chocolatey. I'd love to try some of their other pastries this trip.

Sweet! Thanks for the Churros suggestion!! The people at MouseGears are going to think I'm crazy leaving with 11 bags!! I'll have to buy something (I'm sure that won't be difficult)

I'm going to post a list of all of the treats I'm going to buy at each pavilion (and take pics of course!!)
Three weeks from today I'll be on a plane to DISNEY!!!!!
