Just wondering if anyone has bought a baked good from each of the world showcase pavilion's in Epcot. I've heard about having an alcoholic drink in every country, but I'm not interested in doing that. So I decided to buy a baked good from every country!!
Just wanted some advise on where to go and what to get!!!!

Thanks!!!

FRANCE!!! Their pastry shop usually has a line out the door, but don't be discouraged! The line usually moves pretty quickly and the food is worth it! Aside from France, I don't know where else you can get pastries. I wish Italy had some (love Italian pastry), but they don't (maybe at a sit-down restaurant?).

Good luck! I'll be watching this thread as this is always my goal at Epcott ;)

I always purchase my ITalian Margarita at the kiosk outside Italy that is next to the gelato cart. They have always had pastries like tiramisu, cannoli, etc. Not a huge selection like France but a good variety. I hope they are still there in June!

Sorry to be repetitive, but another vote for France here!:thumbsup2

Here is a sneak peak for you:

I took that picture last December as I was trying to decide what to get.

Said in a French accent: You cannot resist!:cool1:

Oooo I always get that apple tart (along with a few others - I always bring some back to the resort for the next morning). The elephant ears and fruit tarts are always yummy too!

Thanks to the poster for the Italy tip - I'm going to have to track that down! :goodvibes

Thanks!! Tiramisu, YUM! My DH makes an awesome Tiramisu, I can't wait to compare :P
I told him my plan!! He think's I'm off my head until I told him I would half everything with him!! If I can't find a pastry in Japan, I've read about a "Candy lady" who makes candy animals...I just might have to get one of those instead.

GGGGRRRRRRRRR. My computer at work doen't allow me to see any food pics, (probably a good thing b/c I have two bakeries within walking distance!!) I'll have to check out the pic when I get home. I'm getting hungry already!!!

Don't miss Kringla Bakery in Norway, the school bread is YUMMY! :thumbsup2

Let's see...

Canada: The only places I can even think of for QS anything here is McD's right before the pavilion and an espresso/coffee kiosk right after it. Nothing really Canadian. Perhaps someone can help me out here?

UK: I don't think there's any fresh baked pastries here, but you could grab shortbread cookies from the QS (Yorkshire County Fish Stop.)

France: This has been pretty well covered. Def. one of the best places! Since you'll be eating probably a lot of heavy stuff, can I recommend the strawberry tart? Delicious! (They also have a Crepe stand in France...I'd avoid. They're okay. Really not authentic, leave something to be desired.)

Morocco: Baklava in the Tangerine Cafe, easy peasy!

Japan: Yakitori House (the QS here) has the Ginger Cake. Probably the best bet here. Or I'd go inside and get some sweets.

America: Funnel Cake! Duh...what else ;)

Italy: Already been mentioned. I don't know the snacks here off hand

Germany: This is a hard one...I mean, do you go with the strudel? Or the pretzel? :confused3 (Strudel can be bought at the QS location.)

China: I'd veer a little off here and get the Ginger Ice Cream. Seems appropriate.

Norway: I think this one is obvious:

Need I say more??

Mexico: (phew...last stop...) They have churros...but haven't heard good things about the Disney Churros. Also listed on the QS menu, Bunuelos. I have no idea what those are though.

Nope, that picture was enough to make me drool. My husband and I shared a School Bread on our anniversary trip last year and it was sooo good. We didn't manage to get one last year :confused3 but I KNOW we'll be getting one this time!

OP, I like your idea of Pastries Around the World. I don't drink, so the whole "drinking around the World" thing is dumb to me!

Oh yeah, I was going to specifically mention the strawberry tart at France, but I got caught up in posting my picture and forgot! The strawberry tart is one of my favorites. The shell is sort of like a sugar cookie. It is filled with white chocolate mousse and loaded with fresh strawberries on top. Love it!

I love this idea! I don't drink either, so the drinks don't appeal to me, but I've rarely encountered a baked good I didn't like!

:thumbsup2 I can't find the smilie for ITA. Sounds like a great idea! I know that in Italy, there's gelato-it's not a pastry, but it is good.
BTW, Bunelos in the real Mexico are crispy and flat (around 6 inches in diameter), sprinkled with cinamon-sugar. They're a traditional dessert at New Year's. If they're available in the Mexican pavillion, I'd recommend trying them.

Oh My, Is that toasted coconut??????:worship: I lOVE toasted coconut!!!!!
Thanks so much for all of your suggestions!!! I'm going to write them all down!!

What happened to Beaver Tails in Canada?... They were wonderful!:dance3:

I think when I walk around the WS and stroll I always start in Canada, so I'm never hungry then! :rotfl: The only time I eat in Canada is during F&W! So if this journey happens to be during F&W...well, then a) recommend the Maple Custard and b) HAH! Good luck :rotfl2:

another goodie at Kringla/Norway is the sweet almond pretzel...we like the school bread, but we loved the almond pretzel!

It's funny you talk about Beavertails...I live in the city which created Beavertails. We have one every year when we skate on the Rideau Canal!! What a treat!!

Thanks to EVERYONE for posting!!! It means a lot to me, I'm getting so excited :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Off topic comment (kinda)...I showed a friend of mine a pic of TONGA TOAST and I got the recipe for her and she made it and said it turned out amazing. I think I'm going to try it too.
