Hi, I'm working on my senior thesis right now, and naturally I knew I had to do it on Disney World. I'm analyzing some of their recent promotional and marketing strategies and seeing how they helped or hurt the company or affected attendance.

The two big promotions I can think of were 2009's get in free on your birthday and 2010's give a day promotion. What other promotions can you think of in the past/present that would be helpful for my paper?

There's the new Memories promotion, which I may or may not be able to analyze, since they're not exactly giving away any tickets or discounts. They have the discounts on hotels at least once a year, so that might not be too helpful either.

Thanks for anything you can offer!

Also, if anyone know anywhere I can find data on park attendance (aside from touringplans, which makes you pay) that'd be helpful too!

Don't forget Free Dining and Kids Stay and Play Free. I'd say those have brought in more people than anything. I don't know where you would get the official data though on how their numbers increased. You would have to try and talk to a 'real person' in the corporate offices to make your paper show whether the promotions were successful or not. Just telling what the promotions were and not what the outcome was would not cut it if I were the professor. Just trying to help a fellow Dawg.

and the 2 years worth of 'Year of a million dreams'.

Pretty sure Allearsnet.con has a guide to past discounts and dates. I think they also have info on price increases for tickets and dates. If you contact them, they porobably have more info they can send. The parent of this website may be able to help you out, or any travel company nearby that does Disney. You could also try contacting AAA, and Mousesavers.com, I think they both keep track of such information.

As for park attendence, Disney is pretty iffy about releasing that date in hard numbers.

EVenif it were free, I would not take crowd predictors as a real source on attendence figures.

One other source you REALLY should consider is contacting Disney itself. They have an investor website with some info, but contact the company directly and tell them what you plan would be my suggestion. You can get annual figures for park revenue - but I think it's bundled.
