Hi Everyone!

Who is up for a mini meet at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on October 3rd?

Any suggestions for time and place? I suppose we can iron out details as the time approaches...

DW and I will be there. We're first timers for MNSSHP, so I'm not quite sure about the when and where, but we've got a few days to finalize things.

This'll also be our first trip actually meeting folks from DIS - should be interesting.

Erick

Hey folks! I think DF and I will be there as well -- can't pass up on a chance to ride Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion in the dark!

If you'd like to do a meet-up, just let me know when and where! Best of luck with all your plans ... Just about to make my PS reservations on Monday, wish me luck! ;)

Aren't these two rides in the dark already?

Yes, but at least for HM, there's something a lot spookier about the whole experience at night. Waiting in line in the dark, seeing the tombstones lit, and leaving into the night is so different than waiting, and exiting, into bright sunshine. I feel the same about PotC, Jungle Cruise - in fact, a lot of rides are different (better?) at night.

Barry, technically they are "Dark Rides", I agree with the good doctor, they are a different experience when it is dark outside. Better, I can't say, but I love BTMRR at night, and there is something about seeing the rides lit up with all the little twinkly lights, at least those that are, that is very cool.

Agreed! Dr Tomorrow, I had forgotten about the Jungle Cruise at night...there's something a little creepy about it! Plus, at least at the last MNSSHP we went to, the CMs at the Haunted Mansion were extra "on"!

I think the MK in dark will just be a really amazing sight. All the lights and decorations ... I can't wait!

Is there somewhere I can buy MNSSHP tickets online, or should I just call the CRO? I don't want to wait too long and miss out!

I checked at disney.com and I didn't see them under tickets, so I just called CRO, charged them and got them a week or so later.

I wouldn't worry about the 10/3 date selling out; usually only Halloween and (maybe) the days before/after do - plus, this year they have more dates than usual. I just wanted to get them in my hot little hands; one less thing to worry about!

ScarletIndigo:

Ditto that - I called CRO for ours too, and I wouldn't worry too much about the 3rd selling out.

The MK was really cool the last time we went to MNSSHP, beyond just the magical aura it takes on at night time. For MNSSHP they use all sorts of eerie bluish-purlplish lights...ooh I can't wait!!! :Pinkbounc

Ds and I will be at MNSSHP Oct. 3. If you figure out where to meet let us know, I would like to meet others who have help us out here on the boards.
Don :D

We went 2 yrs ago to MNSSHP, it was sooomuch fun. We will be
38yrs and 44yrs at that time. We have been trying to decide
between 10/3 and 10/5. Please let us know if a meet is set up.

Hi Travelgoddess,

I think there is enough interest for a mini-meet on the 3rd - we'll need to decide on a time and place, but we are definitely on for the 3rd. Hope you decide to join us!

I'm still interested in the meet, I haven't been to Diseny in 10 years so I wouldn't know of any place that we all could meet. BTW anybody else going with there children for this meet, it'll just be myself and DS10. Please keep me posted.
Thanks Don:earsboy: :earsboy:

We are definately interested in a mini meet. Do we want to meet
up before the party somewhere, or inside the MK? I am open to
either way.

We've never been to a MNSSHP, but my guess is that we'd want to meet sometime around opening time. Some folks may have PS/dining arrangements before, and later in the evening might interfere with plans/waiting in line. It officially starts at 7, so is a 6:50 - 7:10 window reasonable? Again, I'm new at this, but I thought I'd get the time discussion started. Feel free to disagree - it's not like we're discussing children at PI or V&A.:jester:

As to where, I defer to more experienced minds than mine; we'd need a good spot to wait that is easy to get to ("Third cave to the right on Tom Sawyer Island") - but not too crowded ("Under the Train Station").

Looking forward to meeting everyone,
Erick

You are officially a trouble-maker, Erick. ;)

I'm up for anything y'all decide! I'm planning on making an early (5:30-ish) PS at California Grill that night, so after dinner we can just zip over on the monorail to MNSSHP. I don't know if we'll be able to make it back by start time, but we'll give it our best shot!

Hope to see you all there!

Let's make our highest priority inclusiveness - a time and a place that works for everyone who wants to attend. I want to meet all of you fine folk!

So how does 7:30-ish sound? That'll give everyone time to get to the MK.

Agreed! 7:30-ish sounds great to me. We haven't made PS plans yet, so we can work around schedules.

Hmmm...where to meet? where to meet? If I recall correctly it is run somewhat like an e-ride night where Fantasyland is closed altogether. Um, maybe somewhere near the Haunted Mansion to stick with the Halloween-y theme?

Are there any listings of the schedule yet? I.e. parade times?

I second a Haunted Mansion meeting area. We can introduce ourselves, chat a bit, maybe get a picture of all of us by the HM, then ride the HM as a group. Any yeas or nays?

Erick
