Hopefully this isn't a dumb question, but what does everyone do with their passport/IDs while they are on excursions? Are there lockers or places to keep the documents safe until you return to the ship? This will be my first cruise, so I am completely clueless.

What ports are you going to? A lot of ports don't require you to bring your passports off the ship. Adults need just a government issued photo ID (like a drivers license) and their KTTW card. Kids just need their KTTW card. In the ports that don't require passports, I leave those on the ship in the stateroom safe. I keep my ID and KTTW card in my bag, or if I'm going swimming or snorkeling and will be away from my bag, I have a waterproof pouch that I wear around my neck to hold those.

As noted, for the most part, many ports don't require that you bring your passport ashore. To leave the ship everyone will require their KTTW cards. To get back on the ship, in most ports, everyone needs their KTTW card and (for those 18 and over) a photo ID. A driver's license works well for that.

If you're doing a water involved excursion, the KTTW card (as well as a driver's license) can get wet - no problem. My husband just keeps his in the pocket of his swim trunks. I also keep mine in my swim suit.
