I am interested in purchasing this book but was wondering if it is stictly Disney info. or is there also valuable Sea World/Universal info?

I have tried different sites that review the book and there is no mention of any other attractions. I would prefer an all inclusive book so wanted to make sure before I buy it. Thanks!?

The Passporter is an awesome guide but it is strictly WDW.

Bob Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World is very good and does contain information about places outside of WDW, but it is mainly WDW. The parts covering USF/IOA and SeaWorld are rather short and incomplete.

However, if you're looking for an all-in-one book for all the theme parks, I would recommend Fodor's Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and Central Florida 2003. While it may not be the complete guide to WDW, it will give you better insight to the other parks while covering WDW pretty well.

Hi Kessieanne and welcome to the DIS. I'm really glad you decided to join us.

My copy is about two years old and only has information about WDW, no Universal information or info about other parks.

I like the Unofficial guide to WDW. It includes information and maps for IofA and USF. Some great touring tips too.

:) Looks like Mad4themouse beat me to it.

I have the passporter for the last three years and love it for WDW. It briefly mentions Univeral. Check out their webpage for more information:

www.passporter.com

They are really good about answering any questions you have.
Hope this helps.

I love the passporter. I think it is the best WDW guide out there right now. For Universal, I really like Kelly Monaghan's books. He is a regular poster on these boards and has a link to his books on his signature. You might want to check it out.

I too agree, I have read several guides and I think it is the best. So easy to use, you can take it into the parks with you.

I have most of the guides. The Passporter is very good - albeit much "drier" than many other guides.
I think the area where the Passporter shines is in the resort descriptions. These are MUCH more detailed than almost any other guide.

Although I consider the Passporter an invaluable part of Disney planning (and it never leaves my side in the parks), I do have a suggest for an alternate book. Personally, I keep them both!

It's called the Econoguide Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando. It's written by Corey Sandler and can be purchased at Amazon.com. I've included a link below. It's a big, fat book, with tons of information. Less dry than the Passporter, less partial than Birnbaums, it has a lot of good touring suggestions, and detailed descriptions and ratings of most of the rides.

I have about ten various books, but these two, plus "The Hassle Free Disney," are the ones I read on the plane to MCO. For duel WDW/Universal needs, Corey's book fits the bill. I hope that helps.

Thanks for your suggestions everybody! It looks like I can OD on Disney books just like I have on threads on the board LOL! DH says I am obsessing...oh if he only knew. (please please only post once no stuttering please)

I prefer the Birnbaum's Guide because it has all of the "Official" information on WDW. But, only has WDW information. Which is'nt a problem with me.

The only thing that really bothers me is that my family has almost every Birnbaum's from 1983 to the present day and there are articles in the 2003 guide that were in some of the old ones.

I wish they would revive some of the restaurant articles. But, after going to WDW for your first time you will never need a Guide again.

I feel Birnbaum's is a little biased in its writing being the "official" guide. I don't think it tells you everything you should know. And like you said, they recycle a lot of their articles and don't really update.

The Passporter is the best book out there. I get a new one every year - thank good ness for those deluxe refills. And Jen and Dave are ALWAYS updating. You can print the updated pages from their website and get them in your Passporter so you always have the most up to date info.

Hi, I ordered The Passporter on overstock.com for only 12.99 I think it was. They also had the unofficial guide for 9.99. I paid 16.99 for the unofficial guide at the mall last weekend. Wished I would have found this webb site sooner.
They had about 5 or 6 differnt disney guides and there shipping was cheap. 1.40 for 1 book or 2.95 for your whole order. For these prices you could probable get a couple books. :p
