Just wondering..do you passporter fans bring your with you in the parks or leave it back at the room? I'm pretty attached to mine and I really am leaning towards carrying it in the parks with me. It is a little heavy - I have the deluxe one..
What do you guys do? Bring or not?

I do not have the Passporter but the first year we went as a family (1997) for the first two days I carried The Unofficial Guide around and it was just too heavy. If you have the Deluxe Passporter, isn't this the binder kind where you can just take out the pages you want?

By now we really know the parks so I always have it down with us but I do not take it to the parks. I read everything before hand and usually just make an excel spreadsheet with the days we are there, the hours the parks are open, parade and fireworks times, our dining reservations and I usually just have special "To Do's" on this sheet as well.

Our first couple of trips I carried my spiral Passporter with me. Now I have the deluxe edition so I just bring that days Passpocket with all the info I need for that day. I also use the passpocket to put all of my receipts for that days food and shopping.

This is excactly what I do now.

I just left mine in the hotel room and every night when I returned, I wrote all my notes in it and placed all my receipts/park maps inside. Its too heavy in my opinion to carry around and I don't even have the deluxe version! :flower:

A couple of trips I took one with me to the parks, but now I just leave it on the table and fill in highlights in the evening.

When Passporter first came out I use to freak out my then young daughter by telling her I was going to take it to the Parks, but first I was going to buy a support for it so I could sort of wear the Passporter on my chest and be able to look at it and turn the pages as we walked through the Parks. She would cringe in fear that I might actually do it.

I guess I'll just bring the envelope for that day and my list of ADRs and such. I don't really need the maps..I'll get the real one at the park..I guess I just like that everything is all together in one place. I've made copies of menus and added them to my passporter too. Maybe I'll just pull out what I need for that specific park. 30 more days!!!! I can't wait!!
Thanks!

Don't laugh, what is a Passporter?? :confused3 .

The passporter is like the holy grail of Disney books. It has everything divided into sections and pockets in the back to stash maps, receipts, etc. It is a wonderful book and can be bought online or at Borders in the travel section. I gave last years copy to friends who are going with us. This is their first trip so it is helping them stay organized. It is a must have in this house, we have 3. :confused3 Don't ask me why, we bought this years regular then bought the deluxe and we won one at a Disney Fan Meet. DH is slightly addicted, he takes it with him on business trips.

DH brings the book into the parks but we never use it. I put all my ADR's in the datebook on my cell phone. The first year I put them in a note book but I'm trying to scale down the amount of stuff we take. We will be stroller free on this trip so I can't stash stuff anywhere.

Only the best Disney planning guide ever! www.passporter.com Once you've used one you will never go back without! my Disney Addict SIL got me started with one on our very first trip and now I carry one with me everywhere. If the family is going to dinner and just might want to talk about the upcoming trip, I drop into the diaper bag. Next trip I'm buying the deluxe version!

Go buy one TODAY!!!!! :goodvibes

No laughing here. A Passporter is a travel guide...but an AWESOME one!! If you do a search on here you can find all kinds of info. Or you can go to your local book store and check it out there. There are two kinds the spiral bound one and the deluxe one that comes in a binder. Both are good!
Hope this helps..any more questions just ask!!

Passporter is just about the most wonderful Disney guide book I own (and I own them all - LOL). I just ordered 2 Deluxes - 1 for DMIL and 1 for DSIL for our February 2006 trip. They loved looking through mine so much.

I carry only the info I need for a specific day with me and the Passpocket that coincides with the day and leave the rest of the book in the room. When we return I place everything back where it belongs and prep the info for the next day. My kids love reading it at night to see if their opinions of the rides match the books. We love it.

I plan on leaving my passporter in my room and just taking out the wallet for the day and put it in a zip lock bag in my bag so I don't loose anything out of it.

Last week I left it in the room. I referred to it each night and added the receipts and notes for that day, and reviewed the maps for the next day. I actually like the Passporter maps better than the official park maps. I find them easier to read. I have the deluxe addition and I too am addicted.

YOU BETCHA I bring my PassPorter in the Parks!

Instead of a backpack, I carry a small messenger bag, and carry the smaller and lighter SPIRAL-BOUND book everywhere. I am constantly whipping it out on the fly to amend our plans!

No need to remember every bathroom location, I just whip out the book. Changing ADRs? Just whip out the book. Much more relaxing to have all the info I need to make a wise choice at my fingertips.

Many times, while I am on line, I am using my book to help out a family next to us. Even CM's have stopped me for info!

I have the deluxe edition, so I take the pockets out and put all of the maps and pages that I need in the pockets and take that to the park with me. I then return everything into the book when we get back in the room of an evening.

LOL, speaking of passporters. My SO and I are tossing around the idea of going back to disney next summer. To kind of seal the deal, I ordered him the 06 passporter for Christmas.
