stupid question. Booked everything myself and the ta put it in my husbands name. Irritates me, but no biggie. Just noticed they left the jr. Off my husbands name. Do I need to be concerned? Leaving Saturday.

Thank you both! Just found the email I sent my TA and it was on there. Not going to worry. Four more wake ups until we leave!

You can call DCL and have them change it in their computer database ... My husband has a Jr. and I was told by DCL to change it ahead of time if you know because DCL said the names in the computer need to match the ID you are using ....Disclaimer: I'm a 1st time DCL cruiser so I'm not an expert and I haven't experienced port check-in yet, but for me, a phone call is an easy fix rather than having your ID not match their computer database ...

My DH is the III and his son is the IV. Personally, I would make it correct. Why risk there being any questions? I would give DCL a quick call. Or your TA in this case especially since they apparently didn't make the name exact.

It's really a no-win situation. Some systems don't have an appropriate field for suffixes. A friend is a Jr and the airline books his tickets as JOHN DOEJR (with the JR jammed up against his last name). That's certainly not his name and it doesn't match any of his documentation but it all works out OK.

I've never heard of a suffix mattering either way.

United?

DH's name gets smushed up including the Mr in front and it's crazy. I used to blame the TA but now I realize it's just United. DH isn't even a Jr!

Nope, American.

Once the Mr got smashed into my first name as well, but at the end: ADAMMR DOE ... If my JR friend got both he would end up being JOHNMR DOEJR.

I think its a limitation of the ancient reservations systems that the legacy airlines use. Both American and United (I think) use Sabre, which was introduced in 1960. Of course there have been updates over the past 55 years but some of the quirks seem to die hard.
