The link goes to the passholder section of the Disney site, so you'll probably find more information there (I don't know how to link sites). So, if you have an annual pass or florida resident pass, this may be what you're looking for.

Hope this helps someone!

I had a CM offer me this and I asked "so it is a 30% discount off the cost of dining?" and the cm responded "no, you save 30% by using the dining plan." So its no really a discount off of anything unless you consider the dining plan that much of a savings.

I agree with the pp. This is just an advertisement that you could potentially save up to 30% on your dining if you purchase the dining plan rather than pay OOP for meals, and they are now offering the dining plan to passholders without requiring that a 1 day ticket be purchased.

Just got it too. Actually you do get your room at the AP discount, so there is some savings there. Plus not having to buy that one-day ticket is a great deal. I'm happy to see that the DDP is now an option. I think this is a great deal! So saving around $100 a night on a delux room, being able to add the DDP and not having to buy a ticket to get the DDP. I can't imagine why anyone would not like this deal. I see myself using this side of my AP perks when not staying DVC.

Yes, they tried to get me to book in Early December with dining telling me it was 30% off, but as soon as he quoted me the price I knew it was just adding dining to rack rate rooms. The other thing he said was AP rates were blocked out until Fall, I am hoping this is not true, because we are going in June, and I was hoping for some availability somewhere....we shall see.

If an AP rate is available, for me it was not but they still tried to push this plan as a great savings and depending on how you order it may or may not be a savings. It is however a nice option for AP holders to have that option with a discounted room.

As the discounts appear to become more limited and rack rates on resorts continue to go up I am just more grateful to have bought into DVC 10+ years ago.

I wouldn't panic too much about a CRO CM telling you that AP discounts are blocked out. They seldom know the discount is even out when we know it is. I do agree that past Junes the availability has been pretty slim. The past couple of years we've only seen AP discounts for June at DVC resorts and EPCOT delux resorts. Haven't seen an AP June discount for values or moderates for the last couple of years. Unfortunately if history repeats itself, the summer AP rates won't be out until mid-May.

I got that e-mail. It says you CAN save UP TO 30% on dining - it doesn't say you WILL.:rotfl2:

I am bored out of my skull waiting for August. Yesterday I decided to fiddle around with our resort ressies. I had BC booked on the 30% Bounce Back, but I realized it is cheaper to stay at AKL on a AAA discount. So I changed it. I was looking at my ADRs for those days and I realized the DDP would actually cover us pretty well so I was thinking of adding it for those 7 nights.

I looked up the prices for ALL of our meals on AllEars and compared the cost for DDP vs. OOP with DDE. Basic DDP is MORE expensive!:scared1: Having the tips excluded hikes the price up enough that we lose any savings from the plan. I was blown away by that.

We don't order dessert at CS meals, and we sometimes like appetizers at TS so I think we will skip the DDP.

I am hoping to get an AP discount for at least some of our 16 nights, but regardless of how that shapes up I am not adding DDP to any portion of our trip.

The discount on Deluxe rooms in Value season earlier this year was only $50 per night. That's what I am expecting in August. It is nice to be able to add DDP without buying MORE park passes. I just wish DDP was actually going to save us money! :rotfl2:

Its all well and good, I suppose, but I entered my Passholder # 20 times, and it says its not valid...good till 11/08, thats good isn't it?:confused3

But I think the savings on the DVC studios (delux) with the AP discount was around $100 a night, which was excellent. Weren't they $164 a night.

I agree though, I don't think the DDP savings is nearly as good as it was before the recent changes. We actually didn't use it for our last trip (Jan/Feb 08). We used our DDE discount instead and did much better. I think Disney must've lost some of it's DDP customers -- they did lose us.

I called earlier today and was told I could only have this package through 05/21. :confused3 :confused3

Now I'm wondering if I can use the AP+DDP on my September Bounceback trip. Would it be considered "stacking" to get free dining, without having to buy the 1 day ticket since I'm an AP holder?

I believe that would be stacking. I can't see them letting us get an AP discount on the room and then giving us free dining too. A family of four would be able to get a value room for about $49.00/night and then would also be getting free food. (a room, plus food for four people for $49.00/day) I don't think so! It would be nice though, wouldn't it.

If I had a room booked for 3 nights beginning of of December. Could I add that dining plan now without waiting for a discount? The discount would be nice, but this may be good too. Now that I don't have to purchase tickets!

About dining- are character meals one credit or two? Thank you

About dining- are character meals one credit or two? Thank you

I know that some are only one credit:
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's
1900 Park Fair (Cinderella @ Grand Floridian)
Princess Storybook Dining @ Aukershus in Epcot
Liberty Tree Tavern
Cape May Cafe (Breakfast)
Garden Grill

Those are all I can remember right now, there may be more that others remember or a site you can look at (wdwig).

I'm thinking only CRT (cindy's castle) is the only character meal that is 2 credits. I'll go check.

Yea, I checked on Deb Will's site......only the castle as far as character meals go.
