Passholder Magic Band

I have a trip coming up and received my passholder magic bands and another pair of the regular ones that come with the resort reservation. Which ones do I use? Do the passholder bands just have my pass on them? Can I load the resort info, etc when I get there or should I just use the other pair?

Both are the same, they connect to your MDE account, either one is fine to use interchangeably. The only difference is the passholder one came with the rubber slider.

You can use any magic band you have they all have link to the same info (nothing is really stored on your magic band as the PP stated only links to your account).

With all my stays so far I have one in almost every color, for my next trip I may bring down a couple different colors to match my outfit of the day

I had the same thing happened and I never used the grey ones that came from the resort. I had our AP MB's linked to the resort room in the lobby and only used those bands

Have purchased Annual Pass and it shows up on MDE. Just received Magic Bands and I'm confused. Will I receive another set for the AP or is my AP on this set that just came? I keep reading that AP comes on its own set or with a card. I have also not received a card, so I'm wondering what I actually have in hand.

Do you have a hotel reservation you made bands for? Did these bands come in a box with Mrs. incredible or a blue box with mickey's arm on it?

Passholder box is clearly marked Passholder. Inside with bands will be AP slider and cards.

As others explain nothing is on your band. They all connect to your MDE where it will find your AP.

As long as the bands are linked to the same account as your tickets that's all you have to do. After that you can switch between the links bands as much as you want. They will all be linked to the same info. (I have 3 now with a 4th on the way)

They're interchangeable. They're all linked to your MDE acct so you can color coordinate your outfits if you want

We were just there last week. I took 5 different colored bands (1 AP band & 4 from resort stays). We did have a little glitch related to our APs, but I actually think it was something that happened last year that just showed up now. It was fixed by guest services @ DS & was not related to having multiple bands. After they fixed the glitch, all my bands worked fine.

I suggest that no matter which band you use, make sure to put the AP slider on it. I constantly forgot that the AP gets you a discount at the shops. Several times the CM cashing me out noticed that slider & reminded me of the discount. I saved 10% off my purchases several times thanks to these observant CMs!

This. I lost my AP card about 5 minutes after I got it (I thick I walked it out of my pocket) and this was about a month before I received my AP band and slider in the mail. Even though during that trip I had everyone else's' cards in my wallet for their AP passes, CM's of course could not take my word for the fact that I was one too for purposes of the discount (completely understandable). That little slider is an amazing lifesaver and so easy!
