I've noticed that some people in the parks have an orange passholder clip on their magic bands, and I was wondering how to get one...I recently became an annual passholder, but I already had an active magic band on file, so I didn't order a new one. I've read that the clips usually come in the box with the new magic bands, but is there another way to get one? Thanks!

The new ticket office in Liberty Square at the MK might have them. Otherwise, order the MBs for the passholder affiliation (assuming you didn't already decline them).

I just placed the order for the new band, even though I have several already. You can have tons of bands on file, so it doesn't really matter if you order another. I asked at Guest Services at MK and HS this summer and neither had any of the sliders.

I always take any opportunity to order a new band, either AP or Disney resort stay. No, I don't need it, but I figure it doesn't hurt to have one with the "freshest" battery for the long range RFID functions.

this is where I got mine when they run out last year, this year I got in with my AP magic band

Thanks, everybody! I thought I had declined the AP magic band in my account, but the option was still there to order the passholder band. I will just order the affiliated magic band and hope that the clip ships with it. If not, I will try out Guest Relations. Thanks again!

In early 2017 they literally ran out of them. All we (and others got) was a note saying they would ship sometime later. They never came. I eventually tracked a few down at Disney Springs. People who ordered their AP bands after us were receiving them. I did have an email from guest services saying to visit any other guest services, but it didn't help. I stopped at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, before the HS people called Disney Springs.

FYI - Two weeks ago, my wife was having issues with one of her MB opening up the hotel door. When we went to a CM to investigate, he told her that she had too many bands. Keep in mind, AP Holders for years, and we probably make 3-4 trips a year. While not all of those trips are on-site, the fact is that my wife has at least one in ever color, both the "Version 1" and "Version 2" types.

Long and short, he had to remove a bunch from her account. Not a big deal, we try to use newer ones for things like ride pictures. The long range transmitters on some of the older MB can start dieing...

However, some of them were personalized a bit. Just stickers, but you know how you wind up with a favorite...

I was able to get the AP slider at the guest relations office in Epcot during flower and garden. They even gave me ones for my 2 sisters (who were not with me on that day) which actually surprised me LOL.

I'm aware there are issues, but it is easy to remove the old bands that are a couple of years old. I think I have 10 or 12 connected and I haven't had problems in that regard.

New went to liberty square ticket guest services but they were out of them. They called the main guest services at the end of main street by the front of the park and they had a few. We were able to get them there. So it is possible to get them in the parks.

I wish the website or app allowed you to remove the old bands on your own. We have a lot that aren’t ever going to get used again. I hate calling Disney unless I absolutely have to because it’s inevitably an hour or more to accomplish what I need.

It's really easy to remove/disable the old bands on the website actually ... just go to MDE.com, select MagicBands and Cards and then you can select between Active/Inactive for bands:

We activated our Magic Bands at guest relations at Magic Kingdom and they were out of the AP sliders. When we were at Disney Springs they had them and we had no problem getting them there.

I’ve deactivated the old ones. Maybe I had the wrong impression and deactivating them is sufficient? I just assumed they had to be removed from the account entirely because if you can just go in an reactivate the old ones, they’re still linked, correct? And Disney IT being what it is, if there’s any sort of link it will cause problems.

It should, mine came in the mail yesterday with the cute orange AP sliders in the box.

I had this same experience but never did find one at a GS counter. My son found one on the ground as we were walking into MK one day so that's how I got mine. :/

I’ve never had luck getting a slider at a ticket booth or Guest Relations. Always had to order the band to get the slider.

Personally I would not recommend wearing this slider. You will be assumed to be "guilty" for the sins of your fellow AP holders by CMs
